The 'waking nightmare' quest has been glitched for months on

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:12 am

One of the Daedra quests, Waking Nightmare, is glitched for me on the 360, and I have no earlier saves to go back and try to fix it, unfortunately. What happens is this: Erandur tells me to follow him into the Nightcaller Temple. He enters the door first, and then I follow. When i enter the temple, he is nowhere to be found. When I checked the map, he clipped through the walls and is in another room far, far away. I've read on the TES Wiki that he's supposed to cast a spell in the first room of the Nightcaller temple that will open up a secret passage, so without Erandur there is no way through. This isn't something that happened recently, it happened months ago. 2 - 3 months ago, at least. I've been patiently waiting around for a fix, but haven't gotten anything. This glitch really frustrated me because it stops me from getting the Oblivion Walker achievement. I do consider my self somewhat of a completionist when it comes to videogames, and I currently have 49 of the 50 achievements Skyrim has to offer. This one is the only thing stopping me from completing the game 100%. So, does anyone know how to fix this glitch? Will there be a bug fix for this?

By the way, I'm new to the forums, so if I posted this in the wrong section, please tell me.

my first save file cant complete the drinking game =p

everytime he says, "hey, you dont look so good!" nothing happens... i can do the drinking game over and over again, and even just leave.

still doesnt work =p. oh well. i can see why some people would be mad, but ive deleted atleast 10 oblivion save files with 20-60 hours on them because i dint need them anymore.

also, ive deleted ALL fallout 3 save files. it kind of svcks that pre patch character remain glitched, but bethesda games are about making new characters over and over again.

I honstly don't think the minor spoilers in this post are bad enough to spoil anything for anyone.

Also, how do I go about moving this post then? Would it be done automatically by mods or something? Perhaps it has already been moved?

I have the exact same problem. I eventually just started a new character and did it that way. Sure would be nice to be able to finish it with my first one though.

I suppose this is my only option. It seems like a lot of hassle for something that shouldn't be a problem, though. And I would like to have all the daedric artifacts on the same character. If no bug fix shows up in this thread, I guess I'll start a new character just to get this achievement.
