If you had to pick only one....

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:01 pm

If you had to pick only one perk what what would it be. Out of the perk trees you use for your character which is the most usefull and which is the least neccesary?

For my theif/warrior I'd say zoom on the bow is my favorite. The least I like is recovering twice as many arrows from body's. I wish it was little better, maybe if you found twice as many arrows or every time you bought them you get an extra arrows for every single arrow you bought.

I know this question is a little broad but try to think of your absolute favorite, one you couldn't play without. Then try to think of one that you hated choosing but had to because you needed the perk after it. Remember this is just for your build. If you played more than a few characters then make it for your most current.

I'm jus curious to hear what perks people love and hate while playing Skyrim.

Well, I can't say love or hate so I'd rather categorise it as Useful & Useless.

All Combat Perks Useful.

All Crafting Perks Useful

Speech Perks not that useful.

Blocking Perks not that useful, except the first perk cause i never wield a shield.

Light Armor & Heavy Armor Perks only one of them is useful.

Lockpick & Pickpocket Perks absolutely useless.

Really? I think Blocking is one of the better designed trees, where I'm compelled to go all or nothing. Everything is useful in it. Unlike, uh, heavy armor.

The first helps, but the rest of them up from there is associated with using a shield. And I've not used a shield and weapon build in any of my playthrough.

I think the perk I've enjoyed the most is the 3x sneak perk for bows. It's still satisfying to get that "pow!" effect from a bow.

Blocking all the way. I can't imagine living without the shield bash perk in Skyrim. I've tried making other characters (mages, etc.) without blocking and it isn't as much fun. I miss bashing guys in the face. Killing wolves with a bash. Waiting for a Draugr Deathlord to start his shout animation and then shield bash him in the face... Best feature in a game ever.

Expert conjuration
Dremora Lord is all you really need from conjuration, any other skills you really need more than one perk to make them work. Illusion spells especially would be completely worthless without perks.

No it isn't I use it now and it is very fun and useful.

I can kill Briarhearts in one hit with pickpocketing.

What ever perk allows for 2-handed weapons to decapitate. Is it useful? Meh. But it's so damn satisfying. :whoops:

Knockback under Archery. It's literally the turning point for any archer where you now become more powerful than anyone else.

I have to have my block perks, cant go without them. Best one for me is elemental protection, saved my life a couple of times the first playthrough because I didnt figure out enchanting till late game. Not to mention I love bashing people with my shield, to bad there are no tower shields in this one (not yet anyway).

I'd probably also go for Atronach. A single perk that gives 30% of elemental absorbing right away with a single perk.
