Dead Trader standing...

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 3:22 pm

Me and a Follower were running across the land again, as usual to some place. when we saw a fight. It was a man fighting some raiders (damn FO3), I mean bandits.

The bandits killed the man and then attacked us. I had given my Follower a staff found in a dungeon and what i didn`t know was that it was a staff of Raise Dead. I have no interest in staffs at all and don`t use them being a pure warrior, I only take them for coin.

Anyway, to my surprise, my Follower ressurected the dead man and he joined in the fight!

We killed the bandits and the three of us stood there: Me, the Follower and a dead man. Creepy.

The dead man was a Trader. He didn`t speak or say anything and then he suddenly dropped dead again.

Creepy. I took the staff off the Follower.

You might want to try getting a few staffs like that and see if you can "chain" rez. Would be funny of you could.

Maybe.

I always forget that everyone in Skyrim world can do magic. So even giving a warrior follower a staff isn`t going to stop him using the staff.

I wish you had to be a wizard or Sorcerer to use Staffs, then I could give my warriors staffs without them becoming mini-wizards.

The power is all in the staff. Your follower could have had no experience in magic and still cast the spell because he was just using the staff.

Ah, like Scrolls. Hmm. Different sword and sorcery myths have different ways, like a staff only enhances your ability or gives you more magic power, not enable you to do magic if you are not a wizard. I prefer the idea that staffs should only be used by people trained in wizardry or with latent wizard powers.
