What's the best bow in Skyrim?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 10:38 pm

After finish the main quest and grabbing myself a Supple Ancient Nord Bow that does a nice 80 damage per hit, I was wondering if there are any bows that are any better. (Beside Daedric) Anyone know of any unique bows that have good damage?

I use a daedric bow but i wear armour with archery enchantments so my damage is fairly high. how is your enchanting skill? You can improve any bows damage just by wearing jewellery/armour with those enchantments on. Fletchers shop in Solitude sells some fairly good bows too.

Not unique, but with 100 enchanting and glass blacksmithing you can dual enchant a glass bow for serious damage. Or if you have gone the heavy armor tree you would have daedric/ebony bows available to you.

Orchish or elven seem to do a lot of damage. So does Falmor bows.

I personally use the daedric bow. After you do the enchantment and potion thing http://www.inentertainment.co.uk/20111128/best-bow-in-skyrim-gives-over-1000-damage/ you can achieve well over a thousand damage bow. I believe its quite overkill, however for a harder difficulty play through I recommend this method.################# :spotted owl:

Ebony, elven, etc.

As far as unique, the Nightengale bow is far superior. And with the Smithing perks the thing is deadly.

In the game naturally: Probably the daedric bow of petrifying. Daedric is the most valuable bow-type, and paralysis is the most valuable enchantment-type, but I didn't actually look up every single bow, so I'm just predicting.

In terms of crafting, with 100's in all the relevant crafting skills and all the right perks, you can't do better than a daedric bow dual-enchanted with paralysis and absorb health.

I carry a bow with me at all times (Daedric on my warrior dude and Ebony on my assassin chick), but I'm far from an Archer (1 or 2 perks on my dude and 0 on my chick).

That aside, I've seen a lot of people who like to 'split the difference' between draw speed and damage so I think most of the "Archers" like the Elven/Glass/Dwarven most.

If you don't smith, probably a (expensive) bought deadric or ebony bow, but you won't be able to upgrade it much OR an enchanted one nightingale bow is good but the double enchant causes it to loose power very fast so keep stocked on soul gems. (has the same base rate as a glass bow)

My archers always liked the glass bows the best.I know ebony and daedric do more damage per shot but a glass bow fires faster than ebony or daedric. This faster fire rate can be very helpfull when fighting several enemies at once. Also the damage differance between glass and daedric is only around 4%,so the glass bow is still a cannon.

He "said besides daedric".

Ebony for heavy armor smithing perk tree.
Glass for light armor perk tree.

Unique. I'm not sure. I have Morrowind mods and so I have Morrowind bows.

My Destruction Mage who does enchanting carries around a Longbow enchanted with 81 Fire Damage and 81 Frost Damage, doing around 190 damage. No skills or skill perks in archery. Just destruction and enchanting. I don't use it much.

For me it's got to be the Nightingale, it's an awesome piece of kit.

It depends on the smithing path. No unique unimproved bows can get near the damage you can achieve with your own smithing. My current character uses enchanted glass and elven bows smithed to much higher damage than the base. I forget what it is now, since I'm away from the Xbox, but I think it's somewhere around 150. I think my current smithing level is 72, and I have perks up through glass in that tree.

I find that the Nightengale Bow is the best unique bow I've found. Even without any perks in Archery it deals upwards of 50 damage for me.

The Ebony Bow of Inferno is the best I've found. It takes down all enemies fast.

The Nightingale Bow is the most powerful bow in the game, I believe. The damage is close to Daedric but it has a faster fire rate.

I prefer my Legendary Daedric bow. It's enchanted with "Fire" and "Soultrap". It kills in one shot for the most part. I'll ocassionally add some poison made from Crimson Ninroot (158 damage rated), or potion of Paralyze, with current batches good for 26 seconds. Made a nice Daedric bow for Lydia too, but she prefers that crappy old Nord bow she drags around with her.

C-C-C-Combo breaker!

I personally prefer the bound bow spell. Good damage, can perk it for soul trap and repel/banish. Though I guess it may be magicka heavy for people who haven't invested points into magicka or conjuration, but I've done both and love it.

I use self-smithed Nightingale bows on my archer character.
