It's been a while since I've played Skyrim, but coming back, I've made my first "True Nord" (deadly loyal to the Companions and Skyrim, rescued the Grey-Mane guy and now on his way to join Ulfric's cause). Blue painted face, pure combat skills. Having a blast.

Right now I'm using the traditional Nordic looking steel, with the cuffs on the boots and gloves, the bulky shoulders, and the horns on the helmet. I crafted Ancient Nordic armor, but that looks kind of stupid on a male. I have crafted steel plate, and use that sometimes. Right now I just jump between steel and plate armor. I remember there being an awesome helm that looked very nordic in some bugged dungeon, where you couldn't get through a door to get the helm. Is that quest fixed yet?

As for weapons, I've been using a skyforge steel sword, Ysgrammor's giant battleaxe, and a nord hero axe.

Aside from the ancient nordic armor and Wuuthrad (sp), is there anything else I am missing? I have mostly basic equipment that's buffed by smithing as of now.

You've pretty much got all you can get.

I use the Wolf Armor and a Skyforge Steel Greatsword on my character..

Guards will occasionally comment; "You wear the garb of a true Nord, I salute you."

Ancient Nord Armor is the way to go, with either Wuuthrad or Skyforge Steel.

dragon armor looks like something only a nord would wear, and i'd stick with the nordic hero items. Under advanced armors the steel plate gives off a slightly nordic vibe too

Yeah that's about as Nordic you can get but you should probably throw in a long sword Just to make sure

Look up these
Vikings
Scottish
Irish.

Now mix these. Armor that fits.

Try and make some dragon armour (heavy) cause its something only a real nord should wear

If the weapon requires two hands and if the armor is heavy, there ya go. *no sarcasm*
