Dawnguard Vampire Question

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 6:50 pm

Anybody have any info about the dawnguard vampires fro mthe beta?

Like what skills/ weapons/ spells they use or encourage, and if the new vampire perk tree interacts with any other trees?

Making a new character to get ready for this expo and I dont wanna do something like go pure mage if the vampire form doesnt use magicka, or go pure warrior if the weapon skills dont help the vamp form etc

Or any info about the vampire armors as well, are thery light/heavy? which smithing perk for em

Any help would be appreciated!

Additionally, if this is about the Dawnguard beta, there are two very big problems with that, too.

1. The Dawnguard beta has not started yet.

2. No one participating in the beta will be allowed to reveal any details at all about Dawnguard, period. I'm certain that there will be some very serious repercussions against anyone who violates number two.

I think you're better off just waiting for E3 details at this point in time. That, and/or the next issue of GameInformer.

Also, in case you're wondering, the vampire lord form is expected to rely exclusively or at least almost exclusively on the use of magic, at least as far as anyone can tell, if that helps determine what playstyle you'll go with for vampire lords. There may also be some hand to hand combat mechanics for them as well, but we don't know for certain.

There's a thread in the general discussion which gives some info from the upcoming Gameinformer magazine. That source says the vampires will be from the volkihar clan in accordance with lore that we know. Check that thread out for any more info/speculation.

It would be a closed beta. Not open to the public. As Dark Master K posted, the beta testers would have signed a non-disclosure agreement anyway so any information that comes out before the official marketing campaign would likely be pure scuttlebutt.

Vampires wear no armor, Or use perks like we do when using Skillpoints. For vampires you must kill people by feeding on them or draining all health from them with drain health. Once you feed someone to death like when they are awake and about and you svck em dry you have to do this a certain amount of times for each upgrade. These upgrades are like flying fast across the ground, turning into a swarm of bats, and lifting someone from the ground and leaving them helpless as you svck away their pathetic life. I don't know this other than a few people on Youtube posting leaked stuffs.
Oh and one more thing. They use no weapons or skillpoints and they only use spells like fire, drain life, the sonar thing, and stuff like that. Plus Dawnguard isn't meant for low level players. It is recommended that you upgrade a character at least to lvl 10 before starting the DLC

It's not hate. It's a very common expression used to indicate rumor and conjecture. Since Google appears to be broken on your end, I'll explain:
The scuttlebutt was the water barrel on a sailing ship provided for the refreshment of the sailors. Just like the modern watercooler, it was a place where idle people would gather to chit-chat. This often involved exchanging the latest gossip and speculation about the running of the ship.
So for example you could say, "Scuttlebutt has it we will get dragon mounts in Dawnguard".
