I hate having to go through all the combinations to figure out the symbols to get through locked areas. Does anyone know the code for this cavern?

I have two pages of handwritten combinations that I've tried and failed. Well, I'm getting Restoration experience for healing myself when I don't dodge the poison darts well enough...

Anyway, yea. I had those kinds of experiences too (not with the book), but by trying to look for the answer elsewhere rather than an obvious location.

I've had to try out a few combination in Volkskygge. I did read the book alright, but that doesn't give you any decent clue! I mean, who the hell reasons a fox is on the menu of a bear?! Seriously?! They've got quite strange bears roaming around in Skyrim if you ask me.

If you didnt find the book thats one thing, but once you do its one of the easiest clues in the game.

the combinations are all written on the claw keys... simply look at the item in your inventory to see the corresponding animal and combination... oh I see this isn't about claw keys... Doh!

But I think the puzzle supposed to be more of a rock-paper-scissors thing than a biology lesson.

Aren't y'all referring to the Volksygge puzzle? :confused:

The first fears all, The second fears none.
The third eats what it can, Preferably number one.
The fourth fears the second, But only when alone.
All must be activated in order, If you wish to go home.
