Where is Sam Guinnerava? : V

I am trying to start the quest that he gives that reward you with the saguina rose staff, you have to be level 14 to start it. The moment you turn level 14 he is supposed to spawn in the inn in one of the major cities that you're close too. I have searched every city twice and have not found him, im also level 14. Anybody know if this is a glitch or what?

He didn't turn up for me until I was lvl 18 this time. So have patience.

He usually found me in Whiterun but one time, I turned Level 14 when I was in Shroud Hearth Barrow. I left Ivarstead and went to Whiterun but no Sam. I remembered where I had been and went back to the Inn in Ivarstead and there he was. I think I had entered the Inn before I left the first time but just didn't see him. Did you do anything like that? :tes:

If you're on PC, you can use this in the console

to move yourself to Sam, see where he is, then reload the game and head there properly.

If not, all I can say is 'try and check the inn in every city you have open right now'... XD

I found Sam in the Whiterun inn.

I think I've seen him in the Bee and Barb in Riften on my current character. On a previous character, I'm pretty sure I ran into him in the Frozen Hearth in Winterhold.

I'm not positive about that, but it seems right.

I'm with the Whiterun Bannered Mare people. He always spawns there for me.

He hits every bar. I think it depends on where you are and what level, then he will find you.

You people have it all wrong, he'll spawn in the nearest inn. Inns on the roads, inns in big cities, and inns in small cities.

I had him spawn at the Nightengale in for one of my characters. Took me a long time to remember where I had seen him to go back and do his quest. Mostly I think I've seen him in Whiterun though, probably becuase that's where I am when he spawns.

I will wait until im level 16 then search again.

this is my fourth character and ive actually found at 4 different levels when i was 12, 14, 18, and as late as 20.
every time ive found him though, it has been in whiterun.

He'll be sitting at a table near the bar at the inn in Whiterun when you level up enough.

He can spawn in any of the major city inns. He spawned in the silver-blood inn for me. Try sleeping first and then going to each inn. Sometimes sleeping seems to help load things?

I checked last night and he's still in the Bee and Barb in Riften for me. I'll drink him under the table soon enough.

Yes the bee and barb in Riften, I thought he won't spawn there until level 21.

He is in the first tavern you enter after you hit level 14. That's why his location always changes. First time I found him he was in Riverwood, the same place I was at when I hit level 14. Second time he was in Whiterun, the same place I was at when I hit level 14.

I found him in Falkreath, No idea what I was doing there at level 14 though.

Not necessarily the first one. I was in at least three different taverns after hitting level 14 before he spawned in Whiterun.

The general consensus is what a few people have mentioned: he'll be in the nearest tavern to where you hit 14. It was the Bannered Mare for both of my characters.

Was running trough Solitude, wanted to sell some stuff off at Bits and Pieces; but it was the middle of the night. So, I check into the Winking Skeever, pay 10S for a room and start to head upstairs when I think, "wait, I've never seen that guy in Black Robes in here before...." So, I double-back and start up a conversation with "Sam".

Definitely a memorable quest, as it was the first "Daedric Quest" I'd ever done.

I've met him in the Bannered Mare in Whiterun, in Ivarsted, in Riften, in Falkreath, in Dawnstar and in Windhelm.

That's always the inn closest to the spot where I turned level 14, but it may indeed be the first inn you visit after hitting level 14 instead. I am not sure if he also spawns in the lonely inns of the wilderness or of pathetic "villages" like Kynesgrove.
