The Bards' College Needs to Give Singing Lessons

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:29 pm

Because none of those bards can sing.

I can tell some of the voice actors put their hearts into it, but damn! That's bathtub singing.

I'm guessing there might be some "thing" about getting trained singers to perform those parts, but if it was budget related, it would have been a worthwhile investment. I would have paid an extra few bucks for the game to have the bards actually be able to sing.

While I'm on the subject, there should be some little sidequest that's triggered by requesting an Imperial song in a Stormcloak town, or vice- versa. At least a barfight, if nothing else.

Part of me wishes there were more songs to request, but I would say instrumentals- all of the music is beautifully written and handily performed.

Thoughts?

first they should make everyone shut up when the bard is singing, every single time I request a song, someone walks up to me and starts talking about their problems and interupt the song :(

Personally, I love the bard song in the games. That one in Dawnstar is tone deaf though.

They're funny. I think there's a reason they're in the inns and are no longer actively practising in the college

I like them, my problem is that they take forever to go from one line to the next. "There one was man named Ragnar the Red.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................Who came blah blah blah Roriksteaaaad!!!........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... 3rd line blahj blajh etc

There could be a minigame like composing music on MarioPaint. Minus the "woof" and "meow" sounds....no, keep them.

They're storytellers, but don't have many stories to tell is my only gripe with them.
Would have been fun if they took over Three Dogg's role from Fallout 3. When you did certain quests bards would have new songs to sing.

The first time I heard a bard and they sang the first line and paused I was like, damn, short song! But then they kept singing. And after about 2 minutes I walked up to them and asked them to take a break...
