So is Lover's Comfort just... Broken?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 5:16 pm

I married Muiri, she's a looker ;), and she moved in. I was told if I sleep with her I get a bonus that is better then well rested.

She goes to sleep in my bed, I sleep beside her yet I still don't get anything but well rested, I've done it three times...

P.S. I don't want the lover stone, please don't suggest that.

are you a werewolf? one of the side effects of Beast Blood is no rested bonuses, including lover.

I'm not sure if this is an actual fix, but I just fix'd mine.

I asked her to move into her old house, then slept there and got it. Now we're back in my house.

Maybe she doesn't like your house, might be full of skeevers!

Are you sleeping with her in your bed at home? If you're getting the 'Well Rested' bonus, it seems like the game doesn't recognise she's there. If she can;t be a follower, try to ask her to move to a different house and try that bed.

You misunderstand. After sleeping at her house I asked her to move back in with me. Now I get Lover's Comfort from my house as well.

Make sure your lycanthropy is actually cured. There's a glitch that makes the game still think you're a werewolf even after you've cured it. Guards will still make the :wolfish" comments and you may not get rested bonuses. A way to check is to look at the stats screen under "days as werewolf." If you look one day and then look again after one in-game day and the number increases, you've got the glitch. No known fix yet, btw.
I have it and for a while I wasn't getting sleep bonuses, but then I started eating food again and I get the bonuses again, but the days as werewolf keep going up. Weird, I know. This could be what's happening with the marriage bonus, since it's sleeping- related.

You have to go to their house first, then you can move into your own and you will get the perk.

Doesn't matter, you're days as a werewolf will still go up, no rested bonus, NPC comments remain, etc. Hoping Beth will fix this as to me its just annoying.

Yes. The Lover's Comfort from the Standing Stone breaks Rested bonuses. This is because they actually re-used the effect provided by resting with your spouse to make the Lover Stone's ability and made it permanent, so the game thinks you already have a rested bonus when it checks to see if it should re-apply it when you wake up.

My wife doesn't even sleep, let alone give me a chance to gain that bonus.

Ysolda realllllllllly likes her shop. She stays up all nights planning marketing strategies.

I can confirm Mr Plow's fix. If you tell your spouse to go back to her original home and sleep with him/her there, you'll get the bonus.

However, I have another unfortunate glitch. I marrried Aela and whenever I try to exit Jorrvaskr the game crashes, without fail :C
