Over-Thinking

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 12:03 am

I have this game on xbox 360. If i could justify spending $1,500 getting a decent PC together to be able to mod stuff then that would be a hoot! HOWEVER, I can't justify it! I've heard about some of the stuff others are doing (with mods) and Im thinking, why do I miss out with Xbox?.

I would most definately pay for some cool stuff to be up for downloadable content. I'd rather spend my money on that than a new PC!

I would like to see this Dragonborn Hold idea take formation... and maybe the ride a dragon idea (with limitations)!

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE FOR DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT???

I can guarantee you that at some time or another there will be a mod that allows you to fly on a dragon...

You don`t need $1500 to get a PC that`ll run Skyrim better than your console...

Yep, if you just want something capable then easy £400 (in real money) will cover it. So whats that in $? $600 ish? Worth it for this and M&B alone!

Yea. I think. A $800 -$1000 should do it. But i`m not American and not sure of the exchange rate at mo.

You can make a comptuer with 4 gigs of ram, a 3 ghz quad core, a nvidia 460 gtx, and a terabyte HDD +motherboard for 800 bucks if you buy the parts from newegg

As long as you already have a computer case and a moniter you like you are set.

I custom built my PC for $400 usd a year ago and play Skyrim wonderfully with HD mods even and high quality settings, and that's less than the price of a PS3. =3

My PC does more than just play games, and since I have a limited budget for gaming I find it to be more practical if slightly more expensive than the xbox. My current rig actually cost less than a PS3.

Instead of assuming that they need some elaborate beast to play games on, people should take a few minutes to actually find out what they really cost.

As for what mods bring to the game, well it's a lot. I was pretty much done with skyrim, then a lot of mods have been released that help make the game more playable and more interesting. Another aspect of modding is the search for the right modification or the building of the right mod to suit your personal interests. Then there's the frustration of fouling up your game and having to spend time fixing the things that you broke. Not all mode play nice together either.

Xbox already costs 350, I just bought a new computer for 1000 bucks, pretty much the fastest thing around at an acceptable price, radeon hd 6970 , new motherboard, corsair 8 gb ram, at 3.3 ghz 6 core black edition, new case, just moved my hdd from the last one, should be set for quite a few years to come

Volkihar DLC would be cool, def not dragon riding IMO, maybe Cloud Whale riding

Dragon riding mod can't be hard to implement, Beth already made the animation of getting on a dragon for you, and you even ride one for 2 seconds, although not on your own terms.

I really hoped that after the MQ I could use dragon call to use him as a form of transport, but no, just another summon spell..

Maybe soon I'll get myself a decent PC! Bunjie put map editing in Halo... Maybe Bethesda can do the same for Xbox users.

Riding dragons may be hard to implament coz it seems that in game, they cannot just land anywhere. Love this game tho... dont know what would happen if I could mod, might have to quit my job!

  • AMD Phenom II X4 840 (4 x 3.2GHz)
  • 4GB DDR3-1333 MBRam
  • 1000GB S-ATA harddrive with 7.200 U/min
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1024MB
549€, or 700$. And I you can go cheaper to get Skyrim running on max settings. At some point people have to accept the fact that PCs don't cost the same they did say 5-7 years ago...

Not to mention that with a Pc you can play the other titles as well. I've started morrowind a few weeks back and I find the more I get into the game the more I like it. I'm not sure a 360 runs the morrowind since its an xbox game. Some don't work. You will have to let me know. Besides with the PC version of morrowind there are absolutely no loading times I promise.

no simple DLC. ever. i want expansions that are almost big enough to be a stand alone game but just small enough to have to be tacked onto skyrim

I agree. I admit that I played dragon age a while back. Sad I know. But I was really put off by cheap DLC that gives you one instance and a short amount of content to make profit from a full fledged game.

My laptop was $1000 and it runs Skryrim far better than my xbox. You can easily get a $700 dollar PC that will run much better than a console too. The 360 is so far behind the times technology wise its getting ridiculous at this point. Probably the biggest plus will be the overhaul mods like FCOM and TIE for Oblivion. They basically made into a new game and much better than the default game.

And yes you can hook up any PC to an HDTV and use a wireless controller if you want. Thats what i do when im playing Dirt upstairs.
