No Sitting down on floorlying down in a hotspring feature?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 7:36 pm

i realised you cant sit on floor/ground/grass etc. You can only sit on chairs/benches. I really wish we have such a feature. Imagine sitting down on a cliff/grass and looking at the distance, resting peacefully and enjoying the scenery(points to dragon nest)

Also, there isnt a lying down option too. I met some hunters at a random spring and they are lying down and basking in the sun in the water. Sadly i cant join them...

really wished there were these 2 features...perhaps oneday some1 can mod them? what do u think

It would be great for the sake of immersion.

Indeed. I`m an immersion person too and was disappointed I couldn`t just sit there and enjoy the warmth.

They should do away with the activation on tables, benches and chairs totally.

Replace it with an animation wheel or something similar to the fallout NV companion wheel except this one makes your character perform specified animations like sitting, laying down, climbing, dancing and play equipped musical instrument.

You want a "sit anywhere" function? In a game? I'm all for options, but there are about a thousand other things that could be time better spent. How many people would use this anyway? Would it even be worth coding up?

NPC can already do that. Just the option is missing for the player.

I would love the ability to lie down on a camp bed that you can carry around, purely for RP'ing anyway.
Sometimes I really can't be bothered to go dungeoning and just look around at the scenary and take it all in. I found a great hill that looks across at mountains with a lake and waterfall below.....(that was in my last save and I'll be blowed if I can find that spot again). I can imagine my woodelf sat there in the evening waiting for the sun to go down whilst eating his dinner and then getting some shut eye on his camp bed.

It's all about the immersion for me

EDIT: That said, I think there are more important priorites, like bug fixnig before new features like that are introduced. Specifically broken missions need to be fixed

Immersion is great and all, but there are a THOUSAND other things theyneed to fix / improve before even THINKING about making this priority.

it would take a couple of minutes to give the player the ability to use NPC animations, so im for it. maybe we could even make it useful as a game mechanic, make stamina/magicka recharge slower and siting will increase the recharge rate

edit: but bethesda still needs to fix the lack of stats/terrible UI/ lack of spell effects/lack of spell making before adding stuff

Yes, the implementation of an existing NPC animation would be "fairly" straightforward from a coding perspective. However, the animation may need to be drawn for "sitting anywhere".
Increasing charge rates when sitting is a cool idea, but that would require further coding, with out knowing much about how they structure their functions and methods I wouldn't know how difficult that would be.

I was kinda hoping for a tent we could purchase and set up in the wilderness, kinda like Red Dead Redemption.

Probably a bit too much effort for what is gained though.

Just wait until the guys who made actors in charge release a equilvelent mod on pc. Its not actually worth coding into the game since most people wouldn't use it anyway.
