I'm interested in hearing...

I'm interested in hearing What your favourite Skyrim hold is and why.

Mine would be a toss up between Falkreath and The Reach, Falkreath because it is almost always misty and raining and that is more than perfect for my adventures in its beautiful forest. I feel a great sense of wonder exploring the forests of Falkreath, it also feels a lot like Cyrodiil to me which is appreciated. Falkreath is also a very mysterious and dark place which adds to its beauty; and The Reach because it is stunningly green, the mountains provide an incredible backdrop and the fog over its rivers and lakes is quite a site to admire while riding through the hills. Also, Markarth is a very intriguing city to me due to its Dwemer history. The people in these holds seem quite welcoming to outsiders as well which helps =)

What's your favourite hold?

Falkreath. I actually prefer rain, fog, clouds, wind, and chill more then sun, sky, heat, and... death. I have no heat tolerances what so ever :P anything over 60 degrees is to warm.

I love the Reach and The Rift. So much corruption. in the immortal word of Garrus, "All I have to do is point my [bow] and shoot."

I love going up above the mist and murk of Falkreath to Angi's Camp where it's always sunny. Yesterday and today I got into my Wood Elf character and spent all that time in Falkreath Hold, becoming Thane and doing many side quests.

I like Whiterun, I just like the open plains... I can see across the horizon to the mountains in the distance and can travel freely unrestricted by terrain.

I'm going to chime in on the Falkreath adoration. I wish you could buy a house there!

Also, allthough I think Riften is kind of ugly and full of corruption, I love the area around it (the Rift). The ash and birch trees around there near the lake are beautiful.

For landscapes my favorites are the misty valleys of the Reach and the autumnal forest of the Rift. I'm glad Skyrim didn't turn out to be 100% snow which many people were dreading before the previews came out.

It would have been a little illogical for it to be 100% snow, but yes I'm very glad of the variation.

There should be 10 holds. Blackreach is bigger than any of the other holds :( and still has a decent number of inhabitants!
But my fav hold is the Pale. It is not as snowy as winterhold, yet looks better than eastmarch

My favorite would be Hjaalmarch. I like the march above Morthal and the town itself gives me some kind of an eery feeling.

I love the autumn setting for the forests in the Rift, but I hate Riften. I love Whiterun but I'm not interested in the area surounding the city, I love the sky at night in the North ( I find Dawnstar has the best nightime sky) but I'm no fan of the weather and snow. Lol I'm a bit fussy, but it gives me reason to go to the different areas, not to mention I never fast travel so its beautiful to see the forest change into the Autumn esque setting of the Rift, its fascinating to see the sky light up with the aurora at night in the north as your travelling and its fascinating to see Dragonsreach appear in the distance as you get closer and closer to Whiterun.

The Rift, but I wanna house on the lake away from Riften.Though I do like the area around Whiterun all the wide open space.
