Skyrim: Three legged thoroughbred.

Fantastic concept. Beautifully realised.

But it's hobbled. Just like Oblivion was.

There is still no argument for enemies levelling up as you do. It's better than Oblivion but it's still fatally flawed. Their argument for it being an open world from the start doesn't hold water. The incentive for levelling up to open new areas, more challenging foes and better loot is a fundamental part of an RPG. It makes you want to level up.

Economy is still flawed. I've nothing to spend my money on except training. Can't sell stuff coz shopkeepers are skint, can't buy stuff coz they've got nowt. Can't be bothered churning out endless daggers to make smithing worthwhile, it's boring. Same with enchantment.

Quests are lame. Done Dark Brotherhood, it was awful. (Oblivions DB was awesome.) Started the main quest, hasn't gabbed me. So I started the Thieves Guild, hasn't grabbed me.

I could honestly have lived with the immersion breaking bugs if they got the above right.

I'm level 31 stealth archer and I've had enough.

I agree with the Eco being flawed it a shame that they took it out, cus they took it out the farms, mills, mining pretty pointless, u only mine/ smith until u get the amour u want then after that there's no point in it, when u get to high lvl smithing the merchants can't afford to buy it off u, i think it would of been kool to make a town rich or poor or for ppl to migrate towns because they can't afford it or vice versa.

Oh and by the way don't forget to keep one item of the original thieves armour......I'm not gona spoil it but i sold mined str8 away and I can't become guild master without a pieace unless ur on pc and u can command it.

For the slightest moment, I thought we were talking about a very manly man of a game, like Stallone. Or in the words of TES3, a Three Legged Guar.

heh, not that kind of leg, i see

Don't worry about it mate. Looking forward to Diablo 3 now. I won't be returning to Skyrim sad to say.

I like that some enemies level up too, keep things more challenging otherwise other side quests that coulda been done early would be far too easy later on. Open world is also about open choice of which quests to do in what order, levelling enemies helps this to some degree. Also, there are indeed quests which only reveal themselves upon reaching a certain level of certain skills, so they incorporated both in the game.

..and once again Skyrim isn't a strictly RPG game, nor is it sold as such.

Why? Blizzard's plan for Diablo 3 is the same as all their other games and differs fundamentally from Blizzard North's. They want a low graphic requirement, easy game so that they can get the most money. No innovation, and not even the aesthethics differ in style from Starcraft or Warcraft. They take way too long to release a game with mediocre gameplay, story and graphics that's polished for a greatly unnecessarily long time.

Don't tell me that!

The original Starcraft was my fave of all time. Goes without saying Starcraft 2 was my most anticipated of all time. Turns out it was the biggest disappointment of all time!

I desparately hope Diablo 3 doesn't follow suit. What else have I got to look forward to???

It seems you're quite disappointed by some really good games. You might want to lower your expectations a bit for your own future enjoyment.

As for the leveled enemies, I have no problem with that. I like that you can go almost anywhere in the beginning yet the game is still somewhat challenging on higher levels. Without it and the enormous size of the world it would just mean there would be a lot of useless places and half the quests you get are either too hard or too easy.

I agree so much. The game world is awesome, the graphics are nice, the environments are great, some quests are awesome... BUT, the main quest is pathetic and short. Same goes for guild quests. I mean I join the companions and three quests later they trust me enough to turn me into a werewolf. I join the DB and a couple assassinations later I'm considered good enough to kill the emperor. I join the college and three quests later I'm good enough to be an arch-mage while other students stay students forever.

The biggest offender has to be the thieves guild. I mean except for the first mission non of the story-quests had anything to do with stealth :stare:
