Problem with perks

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:56 pm

I posted this a while back and came across the problem again this weekend. Thought I would seek out an answer.

So I have 50 smithing. The only perk I have chosen in smithing is the first one Steel Smithing. I decided I wanted to choose Elven Smithing (I have 5 perks saved up). It's bolded in the constellation. Skill required is 40. Yet I cannot click it. If I click the bright area below the words "Elven Smithing", nothing happens. If I click the words "Elven Smithing, the constellation moves somewhere else.

I've had this happen before on other perks that I have the requirements for.

I'm on the PC. My step-son has the Xbox version and never has this problem. Has anyone else come across this? Bug? Or am I missing something?

I think its a bug. I'm on 360 and have never had any problem like this whatsoever. Maybe try reloading a previous save?

Do you actually have a perk point available to spend? Its a common mistake that people think they have a perk point, when infact the gauge has not yet gone over the requirement for it. In other words, the level gauge can appear like its up a level when its not quiet there yet. And perk points are noted above the skill constelation. If there is no perk point listed, you dont have any.

If you're definately sure you have perks, I suggest you save your game, try to get a different perk. If it works, then it's a bug, if not then you either don't have a perk or it's a bug! ._.

Then you can just reload your old save. :3
