Taking a week of playing skyrim is the best thing I could ha

I have been playing skyrim since it got released. but over a week ago I noticed that I had started using fast travel a lot more than when I first started playing it. So I decided to take a week off from playing the game and for a week played a couple of other games like bf3 and forza. So after a week I put skyrim back on again and could not believe how much I just wanted to wander about everywhere again. it was like I had taken skyrim for granted and it was not until I returned to skyrim that I remembered how good looking and diverse the skyrim world really is. so now I have rekindled my love for skyrim and I will take a break again once I feel like it's getting stale again. But I would say that skyrim can be so addictive as to make you play it far to much than you should and by doing so you end up sickening yourself from it just a little. Has anyone else took a break and then fell in love with the game again?

P.s. I wish you could edit your thread title if you make a spelling mistake. i.e. change a week of to a week off.

I'm familiar with this as well. At some point you start to rush through the environments and after that you just fasttravel. Both diminish the experience but you can't help it as at some point it just becomes stale. Lately I've had a lot to do so I don't have much time for Skyrim, and when I do find time than it is much more enjoyable than when I got to play it for weeks in a row.

Of course at some point it remains stale. At that point you're so familiar with the voices, with the animations, etc that you just can't play the game anymore even if there are new quests via DLC. I don't think this can be avoided, it would happen to any game if it had enough content to keep you entertaint for hundreds of hours.

I play for an average of 2 hours per day so no, still a lot of quests to catch up. But I feel you sir, sometimes I just wandered and went to the first cave I met to kill and loot stuff. Diablo style, mon.

Yes. Taking time off after a lot of time on a game is a very good idea. some people keep going even when they need a rest and start to suffer symptoms.

I`m taking time off it too, but more because it was holding up work.

Enjoying the rest.
