I've heard of "Widows of Skyrim" and similar sites, and wanted to take the temperature of married Skyrim players on the forums:
How's the Missus taking things?
I'll start:
Luckily my wife really likes watching me play Skyrim. She's my "copilot" and is really into alchemy. She'll see a plant and tell me to pick up a couple of those since I need to make more of this or that potion. She also suggests combinations of ingredients to try out and is pretty good at figuring out new receipes.
She does not like it when I read books- she finds it unbearably boring when I stop to read a bunch; she reads a lot faster than I do.
I also definitely can't sit in front of the tv all day when I'm not working, or on weekends- she likes Skyrim, but it does not qualify as quality time. If it weren't for her I would probably be sitting in the house all day on my days off playing, but luckily she's a good influence! No, she doesn't visit the forums, so I'm not buttkissing.
I've been trying to convince her to make a character herself, and yesterday she actually asked me to hand her the controller and walked around for 2 or 3 minutes (she was trying to see if she could pick a particular puff of vegetation and it was too hard to explain what she wanted me to do). I keep hoping I'm gonna get home from work one night and find her playing, but I don't know that she actually will.
We don't have kids, so that makes it a little easier, but we both work full time, with OT, and have very different shifts, so there's very little 3AM red-eye dragonslaying.
She has not joined the Widows.
