the later sanctuary benefits (so not to spoil) is the listener's quarters safe (master bedroom)? asin not just chests, but can i safely display my collections on tables etc without fear of them disapearing?

Yes it is, however wait until you have the place 'completed' first just in case that interferes with anything. I use that room myself for my thief/assassin and display a nice helmet in there on the little altar thing.
