Sneaking must vary between systems

I see so many posts about you can stand in front of someone in broad day light without being detected once you have 100 sneak. I play on the xbox 360. I have 100 sneak every perk in it, and a total of +65% sneak on my Imperial assassin, and Bears still detect me in the dead of night if I get close to them (Can animals smell or something?). In day light I still get detected instantly if someone looks at me. I have even had forsworn detect me at night while raiding one of their camps, even while I was behind a pillar/wall. Maybe sneak is just broken on PCs or something? I find myself still getting detected and one shot often on my assassin. Also sneaking does't seem to function at all when you have a follower or horse, it is just impossible to land a sneak attack once you horse or follower has aggroed. Plus once you are detected when you are sneaking, you are just 100% [censored], so it is unreliable unlike all other skills, which are always active, you can't be put in a situation where all of a sudden spells, attacks, and your armor mean nothing. + Shadow warrior breaks the shadow of nocturnal power which is a really gay bug.

If you are wearing +sneaking gear, that could be your problem. The inherent "value" of 100 sneak skill is so high, that wearing +sneak gear actually RESETS your sneak to 0 and starts over.

Does that include the 40% from the perks also?

Yes, apparently.

Which is why it's better to grab only one % boost perk for sneaking... along with another tree such as pickpocketing.

Apparently Bethesda never thought anyone would ever get to 100 in any skill :|

They seriously seriously failed to test this game. And they are the "industry leaders" ????

This has always been the gamesas way. They focus on building huge open worlds and not so much on testing, even when it comes to core game mechanics. Game fixes always come from the modding community. The final result ends up being very good, but customers have to wait a couple of years and wade through bunches of mods before getting the finished product.

Indeed. Kind of makes one wonder why Beth isnt paying all these talented and dedicated modders for finishing what they didn't.

Different npc's have different lvls of awareness...

+ I herd that boots enchanted with muffel break the sneak mechanic and allow for line-of-sight in-broad-daylight sneaking. Which is stupid.
