Have you guys made a battlemage? What skills perks and gear do you use? How do you utilize your skills? Do you have and role play elements?

Two Handed, Heavy Armor, Conjure, Illusion and Restoration.

You should run Smithing perks up to your chosen armor and 100 Smithing is pretty easy to get and enables you to improve weapons and armor to useful levels.

My Battlemage is at the armor cap and wanders around with a 126 hit sword and 114 hit bow.

You can do the Alchemy/Enchanting scam if you want to increase various Enchantements on your stuff to a high level but I find I'm kinda OP already without that.

He is at level 40 now.

My only character is a level 50-something Dunmer battlemage. His main skills are Light Armour, One handed (blades), Restoration, Destruction, and Conjuration. It's a very viable class, and my favourite in TES games.

I do most of my damage with my blade, but I almost always have a summon with me, and I'll use Destruction and Restoration as needed.

Yes, I roleplay, and I'm not going to get into that as it would take me too long to type out. But it really adds to the experience, and I highly recommend it.

My concept for a Battlemage would be 1-handed and spell in the other hand, heavy armour, destruction/conjuration based, with some skill in the other schools of magic. Enchanting would def be useful, as would smithing.

I have this visual image of a battlemage being more of a Commander on the battlefield, smiting people nearby, but also being a solid tactician, filling in the gaps himself when he sees fit. So heavy armour to stand toe-to-toe, but 1-hand and smart use of magic to be more versatile and utilitarian than a straight up fighter.

I basically took my Mage and made it so my Battlemage could roll with the Dremora Lords, he is far too weak as pure Mage. I also made him so he does his Destruction by hand instead of with magic.

I'm going with light armor, conjuration, destruction, illusion, one handed (swords)

I conjur a sword and shoot fire balls with my other hand. I want to get my illusion up enough to get silent casting to also be stealthy with my summoned sword. I love the way Elven armor looks so I'll probably kill a Thalmor pretty early on to get some

If I let my character develop naturally, they almost always turn into a battle-mage.
The last one I created had perks in heavy armor, one-handed weapons, destruction, restoration and smithing. He usually had a Glass Sword in one hand and a fire spell in the other.

My spontaneous characters almost always end up as sneaky assassins (although currently my character is more of an outdoorsman - sneaky with high archery). I am keen to try a battlemage though.

Hi
I started as a mage but focused on Destruction and 2 handed sword also smithing and enchanting for armor and weapons
Once they hit 100 I focused on 2 handed Glass mace 45 damage dual enchanted each with 45% fire and 45% lightening also smithed them wearing a 27% enchanted ring and necklace now my favorite weapons
I took smithing to Glass then Dragon Armour and Dual Enchanted them my Dragon armor and shield gave me around 400 armor
Helmet was Magic and health boots were carry weight and Bow Gauntlete were 45% 1 and 2 hand weapon fortify armor as Health and Stamina Sheild was 45% fire and Frost resist

Enjoy and have Fun

My battlemage will be a pure mage but in heavy armour - casting and staffs only. To me light armour, magic and one-handed is a spellsword, which I'm playing as now.
