What is the best 2h weapon?

What is the best 2h weapon in the game? Is it just Daedric with enchants? Or is there a unique weapon?

What about axe vs sword vs mace?

I never had a reason to consciously use 2handed weapons. I have three playthroughs: a sword-shield tank, two-daggers illusionist vampire, and a hand-to-hand werewolf.
That said, The ebony blade is my favorite two handed weapon, because it uses one handed perks.

Mace = Slower attack speed but higher chance to stagger
Axe = Faster attack speed with a decent chance to stagger
Sword = Fastest attack speed with a low chance to stagger

I think thats about right

Ebony Battleaxe in my opinion. And speaking of "awesome" 2h's, it svcks that the Battleaxe you get from Clavicus Vile is so crappy. I mean what the hell, just 200 years ago he gives away Umbra and now its that P.O.S.??

I used http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Volendrung and http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Wuuthrad the most with my two-handed warrior character.

Volendrung absorbs 50 stamina with each blow; however, Wuuthrad can make use of the Elemental Fury shout.

2-handed, 1-handed sword & shield, 1-handed dual wield are all very different playing styles. It's fun to try each of them with different characters.

I wish Wuuthrad wasn't so weak - It should automatically be Legendary+ quality.

Personally, I like Claymores since they have the quickest ATK speed compared to the others. My tops?:

1. Daedric Greatsword
2. Ruefel Axe (It's pretty, you can improve it unlike the Headsman's Axe/Wuuthrad, and it has a decent effect. 20 pts of Stamina DMG)
3. Ancient Nord Hero Battleaxe/Greatsword (They might be technically "Steel", but they've always done the job effectively)

Other then that? Ebony Blade jus cause it's a BA 2H Katana.. and it's pretty! ^.^

My Wizard loves Two Handed Swords. From purely a vanity perspective, I am upset that when my Wizard casts spells, the Sword is not strapped across my back like it was in Oblivion. I liked how that looked.

My Orc Warrior has only disdain for any weapon that is not a 2H Hammer.

Honed Ancient Nord greatsword, from red eagle.
It surpasses ebony greatsword if refined. I have yet unlocked daedric so the honed gs is the best.
Besides, one full refill of the enchantment charges = 1 common gem. No need to waste grand gems, and u have about 150 swings. One of the best greatswords in the game

Agreed.

If you are using smithing exploits, it's possible to make something with higher base damage, but I really enjoyed Volendrung. Especially combined with the 2H perks that allow warhammers to ignore enemy armor.

I also used Wuuthrad quite a bit, especially when fighting Thalmor agents.

I am favored to Daedric Greatswords. Well, greatswords in general. I opt for the faster swing over the extra damage. And I like the way they set low on the back of my char. Axes and hammers tower above the char.
