Fast Traveling Opinion..advice?

guys i want to play dual-wield and most of you might know one of the best weapon for dual-wielder is windshear and you guys might know how to get them,hehehehe...

long story short...i planned to get that sword very early in the game, meaning i want to get that right after i get to riverwood the 1st time and before i hit 10..the thing is i have to avoid many creatures besides encounters during quests on how to get the weapon...

the reason is because mainly avoided the bears and cats as they very very veryyyyyy have nasty power attacks at lower level,so to do that i buy a horse so i can have my escape and proceed as much as fast as i can to finish the quest to get the weapon...

and then i thought if the horse purpose is to avoid enemies at the first place, why not use fast travel or carriage service??the purpose is the same s horses, avoid enemies though...but it doesn't feel right for me,as i never ever use this feat from where i was playing morrowind and oblivion....

what do you guys think??is this mean i'm exploiting the game or maybe cheating??

You answered your own question. If it doesn't feel right for you, then don't do it.

It isn't cheating or exploiting and even if it where, who cares? You're the only one playing your game and the only one you would cheat would be yourself.

Fast Travel- Not ok.

Carriage is fine.

Horse is ok if you don`t mind the 3rd person.

Walk\run is fine.

River is ok, yes, river.

This is all my personal opinion, before some get upset, again.

Now if you walk\run you need to look ahead. You can often see a creature that might attack you before it sees you. If you do, go around, which I`ve done often. If something does come after you, then jump on a high rock it can`t get to and arrow it or magic it. If there`s a river near by, use it to avoid hassle.

Why is this weapon the best for dual wielding? From what I understand the enchantment is the chance to knock enemies down when bashing (i.e. just one 1 hand weapon in your right hand).

The optimum damage you can do is having a dagger in your left hand, then a sword in your right. You will get a very fast triple spin power attack for 6x damage. Daggers have the strongest DPS for one handed weapons, followed by swords, I would say dual wield daggers but the dual dagger power attack svcks. Why is this weapon the best?

At least with horses, you get to see the scenery as you travel.

Just save your game before you start the trip, and perhaps save often on another file just so you don't have to completely re-do the run if you run into trouble. Doing a cross-country run while not stopping to fight anything, at low levels, can be fun.

:foodndrink:

IMO Map travel is only a cheat if it's broken ~then it's an exploit. If the player has the equal option to cross several miles of terrain for free; but one method makes that trip completely without risk, while the other imposes possible hostile encounters... And BOTH methods are implied to be the exact same method of travel... I call that an exploit; but I don't disagree with it conceptually. Players should have the option to use both methods without stigma of any kind. Every Bethesda game that I've played that had map travel, had [IMO] broken map travel.

To not be broken IMO, the game must impose comparable travel time on the game clock for a direct route by either method, and implement (at least a statistical) chance of a possible encounter that could potentially stop the PC's passage through the area, and require action.

... who cares? You're the only one playing your game and the only one you would cheat would be yourself.
This is a very popular opinion; and for that reason, it's a very disturbing one in mine. :sadvaultboy:

Spoiler
Technically you are cheating the designer. They put a lot of effort and thought into crafting a quality design; testing it, and once released... supporting it.
[IMO] this should (ideally) always be respected ~its just common courtesy for one thing.

I've read many posts (all over) that rhetorically ask, "How can you cheat in a single player game!?". Cheating is cheating, and though one can't get caught while cheating one's self and there is no 'punishment' for it; it is a bad trend IMO for people to train themselves (unconsciously or actively) into the mindset that cheating at things is 'okay' if there is no way to get caught, or there no are unpleasant consequences for it doing it.

IMO cheating (in general) should shame a person terribly ~even in private, and it's a shame when it usually doesn't.

Sometimes I use Fast Travel, sometimes I Run (I never walk, even indoors). It all depends on what is around and where I have to go.

So, I do what feels right at the time I need to go somewhere.

I will say that you will see more random encounters, like Maiq, Thalmor, Nobles, Couriers and what not as you walk the roads and the land. However, it seems to trigger more dragon attacks to Fast Travel. So, that can factor into your decision.

the goal for me at least is not to have the best weapon that dishes ultimate damage, but the best weapon that suits my playstyle need and what's best on certain situation..high output damage provided with unlimited stamina but surrounded by enemies that leads me to my own demise while i spin over and over doing damage isn't very strategic while running to get them lined up and a simple unrelenting force could stagger all of them at once and keeping them at bay with constant move and stagger them with windshear could provide me with a more chance for survival, especially when some draugr came with disarm shout..LOL

well,it's not the best weapon but ONE of the best weapon i ever encountered so far...yep the bashing is a mean to replace the shield as a defense mechanism, and even the shield can't do a perfect bash sometimes, while windshear gave 100% chance of bash effect on every hit and even when mobs have their shield raised up...even elder and ancient dragons...

mix them with lord stone+agent of mara+res magic perk on alteration and ward absorb you can be literally a walking doom on skyrim...i've tested it with master difficulty+PISE mod+PISE mod intense level scaling +deadly dragons mod..and as long as we have a decent AR,then the insta-kill from mobs won't be triggered = bashing party

uuummmm,i think it's going off the topic...i'm really really sorry...hehehehe

but thx guys for the opinions...i do really appreciate it  and now i probably gave up on horse and just walk across skyrim...if there's an enemy i'll just bail out or use batlle cry,and yes i use nord ...and if the nights comes i'll probably wait till a bit brighter so i can see surroundings,hehehehe...as i use realistic lightning that enhance more darker and realistic night

If you bash with a shield, or any weapon, you will always stagger the enemy momentarily.

You need stamina to bash though, you can't do it forever unless you use the vegetable soup glitch. Not sure what your tactic is though to be honest ha, if it works then congrats.

well,i tried when i used warrior+shield i can't bash dragon that starts the biting animation,no matter when it starts...but with windshear and i'm a dual-wielder,i can even interrupt when the dragon is halfway on biting us (the animation) plus i can't stagger mobs that raised their shields with shield, that's why windshear is a replacement for shields for me...yep,i always carry vegy soup or beef stew around, but when i have windshear main/off-hand i rarely use them..because,heeey,it's a free stamina bash LOL
