Been there, done that, what now?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 2:41 pm

Ok... so I've finished the main quest, the civil war, im the boss of the mages guild, the companions, the thieves guild and the dark brotherhood... I'm thane everywhere... i have all daedric artifacts... and i have done a gazilion other quests.

I have done all this TWICE.

This feels kind of short for an elder scrolls game... or am i wrong?

When can we expect CK and DLC's?

Soon i hope or my "fire" for skyrim will burn out.

I assume when you say "twice", you mean you took two characters and done everything with each one. Don't do it all with one char. Specialize and RP them.

Think of a character in Movies, Books, RL or other Games and model them after those characters. Only do things and react in the game world as THEY would do or react. Create a character that has a specific personality and play them to that personality.

Either roleplay another character as mentioned or download and try out some mods. If you're starting to feel burnt out then take a break and wait for the CK.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. For a while I roleplayed, but it got old too. Right now I'm just taking a break from Skyrim and when the CK comes out, I'll try to make sense of it and maybe try my hand at modding.

Roleplay.

Reverse-roleplay.

Dayman.

Play in a completely different way.

Play another game.

Sell your copy, give up gaming, and spend more time pursuing other, more productive activities with your time no longer spent gaming.

Or be like a honey badger.

Switch it up.

Turn the controller upside down, or switch the mouse and keyboard to different hands.

If you still manage to do that, play in a mirror with inverse settings.

Got all that done?

Babysit and play Skyrim, that is hardcoe mode.

Kids grown?

Call or text someone while trying to play.

Still got it? How the hell man?

Its time to go outside.

You could read the lore books in Skyrim.
Have you tried being a vampire yet?
Or perhaps roleplay?
Have you tried following characters around just to see what they do?
Console commands are fun. Try spawning a bunch of dragons in a town.
It's also fun to check out Skyrim fanfiction and art online, or make your own.

yep waitng for ck as well. that and the 1.4 patch so i can finish broken boethiahs quest (dont feel like using console for that one). been everywhere and cleared them (or at least as close as i can get to a clear mark since the game doesnt want to recognise a finished dungeon :/) all major quests done except for yet agn, broken quest in the TG extra stuff.

otherwise, im just taking screenies for fun.

Suicide bomb each faction in the name of the sweet roles. The pro of that is that the guards will actually take your sweet role thief problem seriously.

Roleplay

Been there done that. PC-RP'd a greedy, powerhungry. fur wearing nord battlemage with lot's of chip on her shoulders.

Anyway... I PC-RP'd as far as possible on this game. Since Morrowind I have always had the feeling that all other games would feel constricted... Oblivion and Skyrim pretty much etched in stone my thought of Morrowind as the only tru sandbox game i've ever played. All doors could (if you had the skill) be opened, all NPC's killed (even gods)... In Morrowind... you could even fly if you wanted.

nowadays some doors require keys, some NPC's are essential... (more important than Vivec ever was?). The open world has gotten a little less open... and even though i think this hinders good PC-RPG'n... I still did it.

AND I STILL THINK THIS GAME IS SHORT!

ps. My referral to Roleplaying games on PC's as PC-RPG is due to the fact that i wan't to distinguish these from true roleplaying games, you know the good old fashioned ones where you in person take on a role... and just don't guide some pixelated code that you have given a role. This is only a personal opinion and i know that for example there are milions of WOW-players that would argue that they infact play RPG's, a disbelief which I in turn gladly grant them since i have no true need to discuss their and my personal definitions of what roleplaying is.
