Every full beard doesn't connect to the top lip.

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 8:10 pm

There are beards that look sort of, "painted on" and then there are the beard that are long and full.

ALL of them, including the long handlebar mustache, are SUSPENDED from the top lip, just beneath the nose.

There is a gap there, where the facial hair doesn't even connect to the flesh.

You can see it plain as day from the side view in 3rd person.

Totally ridiculous.

It is actually pretty outrageous and annoying to me. I can't take any beard because of it.

Oh believe me I'd be the same way... I almost never play male characters though... Except Kahjiit and Argonians as the females of those races look kinda crappy and massively anorexic in my opinion...

My moustache has been enchanted with Levitation (Constant Effect) since Morrowind personally.

Bump. Has anyone else noticed this, or is bothered by it? I really want to have a character with the full beard. But the fact that the beard doesn't even connect to the top lip, AND, "ewly noticed, doesn't connect to the skin just under the bottom lip, keeps me from it.

Even the preset bearded characters with no customizing done has this issue.

And yes, I have tried every adjustment possible to get rid of it and nothing works.

I am on the 360 and cannot "mod" this away.

You can zoom in third person?

How do you do it on PS3?

Of course. I don't know about ps3, but on 360, tap the joystick to go into 3rd person, then tap it again, but on the second tap, keep it held down and do not let go. With the joystick held down, move it forward or back to zoom in and out until you get your desired distance.

Then, let go, and your distance is set, near, or far.

Wow it worked, thanks!

Cop out.

The thing that sets the elder scrolls skyrim apart from all other games are the amazing and incredible details.

They couldnt make mustache's connect to character's lips?

I used one of the slightly goatee'd, twisted beards, but that has facial hair on the cheeks. Seems to look fine.

Yea, it isn't the best I've seen, but it is far from the worst and it really doesn't bother me too much. Now, take a look at Dragon Age 2 and this is typical. The mustache on this guy looks like a prop from http://oi56.tinypic.com/1zztiqw.jpg

Hilarious, since his face is so smooth and baby-like.

The default male Hawke's beard is really cool though. It doesn't connect entirely either, but the general look is good. First rpg where I didn't bother with character creation.

Environmental detail. Beth has never really been that good at character details, which isnt a big deal because thats true for every game(clipping issues abound). I dont know the tech behind the scenes but facial hair in just about every RPG isnt actually attatched to the model, it just floats in a static spot no matter what face you make.

Our technology apparently hasnt advanced to facial hair level yet, were still prepubecent.
