I'm about to start a new character, advice?

Ok so I'm about to make a new character after putting about 100 into my current character. I took a break, and now im about to play again. I'm looking for tips about how to get the most out of the game. Some things that ive already found myself are :

1) NOT ABUSING THE SAVE FEATURE- this is something i never realized i was doing until late game. basicly what this means is I'm going to reload saves ONLY when i die or a glitch happens. Thats right picking pockets WITHOUT abusing the save, get caught sneaking and your going to have to deal with the situation and not just reload.

2) I'm thinking about not fast traveling (except the carriages)... i tried this in fallout 3 but its was a PAIN. I'm hoping it won't be in skyrim though. In fallout it was a pain because even though you saw so much more, you ended up taking more time to travel somewere to do a quest then you did actually DOING to quest. As well as we can't upgrade our running speed (im going to HAVE to become a werewolf in the game early on so i can travel easier lol)

Question: what system are you playing on? There is a bug on PS3 where creating a new character wipes out the previous one. If so, then I would advise using cloud storage or a flash drive from your current character. :)

know what kind of character youre going to make and then stick with it. choose about 3 main perks and some secondary. also, i prefer not to abuse the smithing exploit and just use weapons that i can find around the world.

and this probably goes without saying, but try different paths for quests this time around. it helps prevent your second character from feeling repetitive.

Click "new" and play. Randomize everything.

I made a pure mage today. It's completey different from my main archer, but it's cool to see how to handle situations in a different way.
