so skyrim is a game

morrowind will forever be a legend of game art at its finest. Skyrim is fun, but dulls in comparison.

How original. Would you like your trophy for best argument engraved with your name on it?

Seriously? Morrowind is brilliant but this is just a bad attempt at trolling. Or would you see the combat in Morrowind was revolutionary as well? That the dialogue of every single NPC was brilliant? How about Vivec City, nine buildings all exactly the same? Yeah that was brilliant... Come on man, the game is by far my favorite in the TES series as well, but it wasn't perfect.

I went to war once...the realism was fantastic, but I wasn't too keen on the 'dead is dead' aspect.

Different strokes for different folks...

skyrim pursuade check is a joke. its 100% guarantee to work everytime. Not to mention the dull and predictable dialog that I cant stand to sit through so I click through it.

You don't have rose-tinted glasses on. You've got rose-tinted lenses embedded in your eyeballs.
Morrowind is a great game, but it's not THAT great.
I still rank it equal to Oblivion and Skyrim, as I enjoy them all. Still, they've all got problems(cough cliff racers cough)

On the subject of faces, that's not a valid comparison. the faces in Morrowind were all presets, so they could put as much detail into them as they wanted. Oblivion actually had varying facial features. Not even close to the best facial features, but it was a start
And the faces weren't as bad in oblivion as the animation was in Morrowind.
Also, that last statement is flat out wrong. You CAN fail persuade checks, and I frequently do. Still, it's better than Morrowind's system of you can fail ANYTHING. My best friend almost didn't play the game when I introduced it to him because he got killed by that first mudcrab without ever hitting it

yeah but the story is awe inspiring. So many cool things and twists. Why did skyrim fail in this aspect. I would much rather have the old game with new 'skyrim' features.

So Skyrim is a game, Morrowind is another game and your thread is useless flamebait.

I like how people are complaining about the author trolling or pointing it out in their own way but they themselves are trolling making them a hypocrit.

I myself loved Morrowind better than Oblivion or Skyrim. Morrowind wasn't perfect but the combat was fun, enemies were level scaled where really in game design Oblivion and Skyrim Epically fail is scaling. The guildes were fun, I joined the Dark Brotherhood, you were pitted again the other guilds some doing the same thing or vying for the same thing as the other. It was dynamic.

Now if it wasn't for the quest tracker being a journal morrowind would be closer to perfection. I simply don't want to read through 200 pages to know what I have and haven't done. I think a hybrid of the modern and the old would be fun to see my thoughts on quests or how they are written like that. Little extra thing but would really go a long way if you could just have your quests sorted so you know what you are doing.

FYI, Morrowind has basically no level scaling whatsoever. Enemies are all static leveled

not only guilds, but contentions within the guild. Take house redoran for instance. There were sides to take within the faction. There is something to be said how the extra effort to create a TES game with quality with such limitted reasources. And this is what made the elder scrolls successfull. Not some sell off like skyrim. Its fun, but the world and everything in it looks good, but seems artificial in comparison.

House Redoran didn't have "sides" you could take. It had a bunch of quest givers that you could jump between like a frog(to a certain extent), just like every other guild. here's proof of that:http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:House_Redoran#House_Redoran_Quests
Other than what side quests you can take, there aren't a lot of sides you can actually take. It's just "be the only person in the whole freaking guild that does this random crap" and get promoted for it

no your wrong, you have to take a sponsership from one of the councellors. Leading me to believe that they are all vying for leadership. So not just a contention but multiple sides you can join. Its unending. It all ties into the world and crosses other houses and the empire ashlander thing does more for a civil war than 4 cheesy quests in a stormcloak vs imperial battle for skyrim.

Not sure about house redoran, but in House Hlaalu you only get to choose Crassius. I'm pretty sure it's the same(haven't finished House Redoran in quite a while)

Morrowind uses levelled lists. When you're higher level, you find higher-level enemies. The effect is similar enough to scaling that it isn't worth the effort to nitpick the technical differences.

If you want to discuss Morrowind, do so http://www.gamesas.com/forum/6-morrowind-general-discussion/. This is the Skyrim section.

Sounds like you haven't played the game or looked in the Construction Set. There are Ninja Monkies everywhere (level scaled enemies).
