No collateral damage?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 8:50 pm

So I found two staffs of fireball in a dungeon one just laying around one of a very tough opponent mostly due to the 15' radius blast. So I kept one and gave one to my companion who used it in the very next fight against 3 mighty wolves who I happened to be surrounded by at the time. I recieved no damage from it but it was of course instakill on the wolves. In the next fight I let the companion run ahead to engage and use the staff, she didn't recieve any damage like she would if I used the actual spell. Anyone else notice this?

Oh I thought you meant when you go to a shop to buy a certain item. When they don't have it you kill everyone in the town.

[censored] just got real in whiterun.. That'll learn em for running out of wooden bowls. I have killed a couple of companions with runes and exploding fireballs. I never trust them with staffs though.

Really? I think they over use them but very effective.

On a side note your name reminds me of a guy I was stationed with over in Okinawa who was entering MMA matches under the title "That Guy" except of course with the language barrier the Japanese where always putting his tag as "That Gay" or maybe it was intentional either way funny to see all the people cheering for him during his walk out then trying not to chant what was on the screen.

I use them in certain situations and often give them to my companions if I am traveling with one. I am finding companions a hindrance for my major magic user who generally only uses magic. One thing to consider is that staffs will raise destrction but I am not sure of the rate compared to actual casting, also your enchant goes up when you recharge them. Which kind of makes more sense to me then standing in front of a table channeling a soul into an item.
