Will Dragonplate Armor be "Fixed?"

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 8:03 pm

As of now Daedric is the best heavy armor, is Bethesda aiming to patch the game/dlc skyrim in such a way that dragonplate will become superior as it is the final perk in smithing?

Why should dragon armor be the best? Even in a fantasy world, bone armor is bushing the boundaries of realism, plus they are so accessible it's ridiculous for the best armor.

If anything, they should make Daedric the final perk. Dragon bones & scales are too easy to come by.

Daedric has always been the best. That is just how it has always been in TES.

There is no significant difference other than looks.

No one could care about this if dragon armor wasn't the 100 skill perk and instead daedric was.

I'd rather see dragon weapons, as you can still max your armor rating with the current setup.

If anything they should add dragonbone and scale weapons.

It does not need to be fixed.

Daedric Armor is hard to craft, is a lot heavier and provides only a fraction more armor.
Dragonbone Armor is very easy to craft due to abundance of dragons, is lighter and almost as protective.

Everything is in order.

I hear you guys 100% cuz I definitely feel daedric should stay the best as per tradition, rarity of materials, looks, etc. But that isn't the question at hand exactly while I wish it was...

Does Bethesda have any known plans of changing the armor so dragon is superior???

I don't know if I should put a perk into dragon smithing to be on the safe side if dragon armor (and maybe weapons for that matter) become the best in the game one day :[

I highly doubt Beth will make those changes your worried about. Don't bother wasting a perk if you're happy with Daedric.

I'm sorry, I don't understand how you can say that Daedric should be the best but Dragon should be better. That doesn't work.

That's not what he's saying. He wants Daedric to remain the best, but he's worried that Bethesda will patch Dragon Armor to be better eventually.

OP, I wouldn't worry too much. It being a mistake that Daedric is the best armor seems unlikely, and even if it was, this is probably something they would have changed in the first couple of patches. I highly doubt they would change it now.

Thanks so much that was just the answer I was looking for :)

Do we know if dominant dragon weapons are imminent?

Dragon is the top tier perk so that both Heavy and Light can access it.

I just want my helmet to match the briast plate. Either make it all bone or all with a metallic sheen.

From a technical standpoint, anything from Steel Plate up is the best, potentially. It all hits the effective armor cap. (Arguably, Steel plate or Orcish could be the best, since it requires less perks to allow you to hit the armor cap)

Well, I maxed out my armour rating on Plate Steel...which is just the same as everyone else who has an armour rating at 567+ points.

With a high heavy armor skill and smithing dragon and deadric with both 'max' out your armor rating. So really they are equal late game... which is when you would get them.

Also deadric has always been the best. Honestly I think deadric is 'to easy' to make. Dragon armor: take dragon bones, add steal and leather straps to fit bone pieces together= done.

Deadric: work with ebony, already the hardest metal to work with, use deadra blood from a deadra heart instead of water for cooling, throw in some magic, and somehow shape this hardest, strongest, heaviest of metals into a sharp edge all at the same time. Personally I think the atronach forge should be the only way to make deadric armor since it is magical in nature.
