Need urgent help, playstyle

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 11:04 pm

Dear Fellow daggerfall fans,
In skyrim, I put in a solid 60 hours rising in the ranks of the companions, doing a bunch of fun side quests and hoarding so much stuff, the tv show hoarders would feature me if i let them.
I am asking for your sincere help, here is my problem:
Most of my fighting skills were around 40 to 50 and my gold was never about 2,000 cause i always used it to buy healing pots.
Last week i was trolling youtube and i found two videos that really changed my enjoyment of skyrim.
the ohgam inferium(spelling?) and the throat of the world videos...you porbably know what i am talking about.
we'll i not a cheater and in all honestly i don't beleve either are cheats because the rules NEVER said you cannot do those things to improve your skills. so it took me about 2 days to finish those quests and max out all my skills to 100.
I'm not a drug addict either, but this sure is similar to it: enjoying the game healthily for 60 hours, then i get a 2 day kick that gets my hormones racing like crazy, then..and here his where i need urgent help...then at 100 i feel down and depressed. Nothing feels challenging and i dont really care to quest or get more gold, i kinda feel like i'm at the "top" and don't need to play hard anymore. i guess i really enjoy the leveling up aspect of RPG's like daggerfall, wow and skyrim.
I want to play more, but it's just not fun anymore, i feel like i finished the game. i didnt get far in the main quest but why bother. all i am waiting for now is an expansion pack with the level cap raised.
since i only played 60hours on my ps3 slim, i had zero crashes, zero framerate issues and zero graphical glitches, the game was perfect for me(sorry to those that suffered on all 3 platforms).
maybe i should crack open oblivion again? the problem is i am sooo tired of hearing the same male voice actor for like every freaking character in oblivion. skyrim the characters looked different, sounded different and smelled different, they did such a good job, i took it for granted.

Start again and don't use those glitches? Try getting to 81 naturally. That'll take you a long time, giving you the chance to see every quest whilst levelling.

I suggest you to start a new character and don't use those cheats. Its quite rewarding to get your skills at 100 without cheating.

You broke your toy. Now you want to play, and you can't. Nothing can be done at this point. You'll never again have the same level of enjoyment becuase your knowledge of the things you COULD do will always nag at you. So... grow up. Learn not to break your stuff. Want some advice? When D3 comes out, completely ignore the Auction House aspect of the game.

Think up a character, any character. Give them a line or two of back story, get a rough idea of the kind of perks they would take, decide which factions would or would not suit them. Stop worrying about levels and power, don't think you have to 'finish', just play to tell their story. Now it's time for a re-start.

Build a new character and don't use those methods to advance yourself.

Keep fast travel to a minimum.

Walk as much as possible.

Play more than one character - each having a different play style. I play 4: Pure destro mage; assassin/bow user; warrior 2H sword; pure conjurer mage. Switch to a different character each day.

Currently going over 340 hours since release.

There are 150 dungeons, and several hundred more places of interest in the game - find them all.

Go off the road and into the wilderness and you'll be surprised how many places/things you find. You know how many shipwrecks there are?

I mean, there's so much to do in this game - you can't have possibly have done all of this in the little amount of time you played.

Delete that character and start over.

Actually, with TES, I really don't start enjoying the game until my char is maxed (capped) anyway. I try to specialize them and usually stop leveling all together around level 48. It's a playstate that was spawned by the leveling system I found when I picked up Oblivion. Skyrim feels the same way for me.

Holy guacamole, i expected flames like i usually got pre-release. but each of the above comments were well thought out and much appreciated. what a cool idea to re-roll. i would do many things differently, for example in my first char i played like a total square, never breaking the law, my new char is going to be a pyscho that just attacks everybody. omg i am drooling just thinking about getting home and laying the smackdown on the whiterun guards!
