Is it any good in combat? For master? Is it any different at all from double axe/sword/mace?

My assassin uses a sword for left hand and dagger for right, and IMO it is pretty fun. May feel a bit Sluggish but its all about preference.

Your dual wield power attacks are super quick, and if you wield a mace in your right hand, you get the both the benefits of speed and quick staggers.

Your off-hand weapon determines your attack speed when dual wielding. So, if you want to be quick, go ahead and use a dagger.

From what I've read, dagger + mace is the optimal combination for DPS.

I know, it seems like every single video game character is right handed. Main weapons always go in the right, secondary weapons/shields in the left. I'm right handed, but I've always found it odd.

nice, so i use the optimal combo without wanting too :D didn't like dual sword and dual mace was so slow, so i took an dagger in the off hand...

i also do it a bit for rp reasons... i really don't like the magically appearing second mace or so. so i decided to take a dagger, becasue it is the smallest weapon and the easiest to hide

Are daggers faster than any other one-handed weapon?

This thread made me sad at how completely blah weapon stats are. Damage, weight value.

What happened to sharp damage, blunt damage, attack speed, bonus damage from strength, length??

Daggers are fastest, and according to a loading screen tip, swords are faster than axes, which in turn are faster than maces.
For two handers, its great sword, battle axe, war hammer.

I've played several games (mainly D&D) that give different weapons different damage types. Piercing, slashing, bludgeoning. And some monsters are resistant, or even immune to certain types. Piercing and slashing dont do much to skeletons, for example, but bludgeoning works well.
