Create-a-companion

I think it would be a great idea to have this as a dlc...how cool would it be to create a companion from scratch using the same system you used to create yourself? The RP possibilities would be endless and having a created companion to level up with you and live with you would be better then any housecarl IMO. I'd much rather bring my own companion on my quest and RP that they came seeking me after i left

I'd probably just recreate Kharjo.

Morigan and to a lesser extent Sten and Dog are the only companions I've actually enjoyed. I don't really like companions in Skyrim and to be honest I don't like horses either they just get in my way.

Oh, if we're talking about ideas from other games, then I'd want there to be some bard skills.

Then again, we don't really need that many buffs.

Easily done with the CK. Although i guess it would make good DLC for the console users. Won't happen though.

I would create new characters for a wife or bring back old tes characters to join me in skyrim...

You should also be able to set a character type for your created companion with base skills...meaning set them as warrior, mage etc. and build from there

A heavy armored, two-handed weapon using argonian named buffscale mcthundertail

you find him randomly in caves or dwemer ruins and each time he challenges you to a fistfight

but it's not like the other ones where you only have to win once

after you beat him in a fistfight he runs off to better himself for your next encounter

the third time you beat him he agrees to accompany you.

This could be fun, but one of the biggest problems I see with it is your companion would have absolutely no unique dialogue options at all.

Personally, I would much better prefer the option to turn your spouse into a companion, regardless of their background.

true but dialogue is already flawed and lacking anyway. Your companion could have a generic race voice and make comments on your skills in battle or awe while in beautiful areas..oh wait companions already do that :P

I have thought about this very thing. It would be a great thing. Yet another reason why I will be moving to the PC. Some companions would be great but either I don't like the way they look (ie female NPCs with those damn gorilla arms) or the AI is screwed up and run up your ass and push you into stuff or off a cliff.

I like how Lydia looks like she could kick my Nord's ass, though I hate how companions don't know when to stop and will shove my character, sometimes off ledges. It's also annoying how they will blindly charge forward into a room full of enemies with no concern for their health.

The topic is interesting, and it would be nice to pick what favored equipment/abilities your follower uses.

I would have it where after you create them they show up at your door without anything but a loincloth and a story how they were robbed on their journey to find you. That way you can arm them with whatever you wish and when you do you could pick a skill set (class) for them

They could have a quest tied in to your companion that would'nt be too direct so it won't ruin RP
