Horses have nothing special about them anymore

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 12:40 pm

In oblivion every city sold a differant brand of horse
Anvil had white horses, chedynhal had black horses ect.
And not only that Every horse had differant things about them.
One brand ran really fast, and another brand had a lot of health, things like that.
Idk if each hold sells differant types of horse, but their all labeled horse, no bay horse, no white horse ect.
And they all are the same as far as i know, no certain horse has more health or more speed, and it just adds more to tthe game feeling really dumbed down.
I miss each horse having unique qualities like in oblivion.
Plus horse riding really svcks in this game.
You can't walk backwards? wtf?

There are some special horses that you can get after doing certain quests, and by all accounts are better than standard horses. As far as I know the horses you buy are all the same...

Fifth Elder Scrolls game.

Still can't put gear in saddle bags.

How is this possible?

when i play, i don't use horses. For me to travel the short distance from a fast travel location close by I find that not having to dismount, plus the option to pick herbs and butterflies along the way a much better course for me. So I never use horses.

I agree, its crap. Not to mention (which im going to mention) they are useless without a mod to make them faster, its atrocious how slow they are. I know why they are slow but imma try not to start a flame war today :P

It is a little confounding that the elements we were missing in Oblivion's horse riding system were incorporated in Skyrim (better animations and models, faster speeds), but the elements that were in Oblivion got cut (first-person perspective, armor).

How does that work? :wallbash:

Graphics vs gameplay.

Graphics seem to be winning.

My favorite horse attacked a Dragon. I think that's pretty special. Stupid, but special. He was a good horse ....sigh.

And stables a were actually stables in Oblivion, in Skyrim you are just intruding someones lawn. Or might as well be. It's really baffling why features that worked in Oblivion were broken for Skyrim
