Where is the PS3 Patch Download Section ?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 6:49 am

I am looking for the section where I can/will be able to download the Skyrim patch. I am getting horrible lags with a big saved game (15MB actually).

I know the 1.4 is not out yet, but as it will be my first patch (I must admit I NEVER had to patch a game on a console actually... in about 15 or 20 YEARS I play on console ... as a hardcoe gamer) I wanted to check the 1.3 patch and see how I would mess with the USB and this PS3 folder.

Unfortunately, after I updated successfully my PS3 system pseudo-manually for the 1st time (great isn't it ?), just for fun, I found out that I wasn't that smart because actually I cannot find the 1.3 patch for PS3. Neither on your website or the playstation website.

So, can somebody be pleased enough to give away this download link ? thanks

(I definitely won't connect my consoles on Internet and I won't create a PSN (or else) account just to be able to download a patch necessary to be able to play a game I bought legally.)

Patches are installed automatically on your PS3 when they come out.

You have to be connected to the internet for it to download.

So yes, if you have internet connected, it will download when you start up the game.

lol no. Maybe that's why you've never patched a game yet.

If the playstation can download it if it is connected, there is a way to download it from a PC.So why not give the possibility to do it and not force people to do it the wrong way ?

Most games have patches, granted Skyrim for PS3 has serious issues most patches is just for broken quests or similar.

Then forever be stuck in the 90's. You call yourself a "hardcoe" gamer. Here in the year of the 2012, patches are autatically delivered to your console via that amazing thing called the Internet. Sorry man, but you'll be lagging forever unless you jump on Al Gore's bandwagon.

The patches aren't necessary, they just help because they're nice fixes for broken things in the game.

I'm not understanding your problem with connecting your console to the internet..?

You don't know what you are talking about, you don't even know me... @ HecticYou don't seem to know either what you are talking about.3 years on MMORPG made me take this decision to stay offline to play game :)Anyway, I should have known it would be pointless to create this topic on this forum. You get always and always the same answers.

then you definitely won't be able download updates/patches as they are all done via internet on consoles.
blame bethesda for rushing the game to come out on a fancy date and not doing thorough testing and programming

Don't know what you're so paranoid about, it's been done this way since the PS3 first came out, it's quick, easy and convenient for the PS3 owner . You should have been around in the seventies and eighties. When I needed a patch for a computer game, I had to write the publisher (using pen and paper, no such thing as e-mail then) and I had to wait weeks, maybe months, to get a number of floppy discs any where from 2 or 3 all the way up to 10 or 12. I don't remember any PS3 game I've gotten in the last few years that didn't have at least one update or patch delivered his way. What's your problem with connecting your PS3 to the Interet? It's not a big deal at all.

Actually, for console users, patches are delivered automatically. With Steam, so are patches for the pc version, although you can decide to not allow the autopatch to run.

If you knew you were going to completely ignore people telling you about patching the game, why bother making the topic in the first place?

The only way to get a patch for the consoles are through the console manufacturers, Sony and Microsoft. If you aren't going to make an account so Sony can deliver the patches needed, there isn't any other legal options.

You might try contacting Sony to see if they have any suggestions for what to do.
