The power of novice!

I need to know something. Why do people complain so much about certain enemies being overpowered as well as the player being underpowered at later levels? Don't they know that there's a novice difficulty setting? It's so obvious. If you're going to power game and abuse smithing, enchanting, and/or alchemy, you're definitely not going to have to worry about being underpowered. But when you're playing as a hand to hand fighter, or a destruction only mage that abuses the impact perk and complains that it's boring and tedious, why don't you just turn your difficulty down? I know some people say "I don't like handicapping myself when I shouldn't have to, I play on either adept, expert, or master." But you really don't have a leg to stand on when you complain about something that you can so easily prevent. I agree that this game isn't as balanced as it should be, but I don't blame that on the team that created Skyrim, I blame that on the insufficient deadline that they were given to make the game. So will someone please enlighten me on the problem here?

Very true. But, ha, then the fun of complaining is so addictive.

I agree. When I am trying out new or weird concepts I start on adept. I up the difficulty if I am finding things too easy, and if it is too difficult at adept, I take a long look at how I am playing and if dropping difficulty would make the difference or not. If I am still enjoying the concept and I think dropping the difficulty might make it more playable, then I am willing to do it. I find most of the time though, the my wild crazy concept is just not as fun when I try to put it into practice, never that it is a balance issue.

wait what? Turn the difficulty DOWN when you're overpowered? I don't get what you're trying to say.

LOL I'm gonna take a guess here, and imagine that you aren't somebody who has encountered a balance problem in your game, and also has not tried to "fix it" with the difficulty slider... hence, your post.

Please explain your point rather than just making a jerk out of yourself by making silly assumptions.

I'm saying that people shouldn't complain about being underpowered if they can just set the difficulty lower.
