Couple thoughts on Skyrim

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:49 pm

Ok I thank everyone for the answers I received.
I decided to play Skyrim and ignore all errors and simply have fun.
Have just one question if I start playing today will the 1.4 patch affect my game later?
Or should I install 1.4 first and then play from the beginning.

i dont think you would have to restart at all. games like this barely have client based patches that require a restart, its mostly hotfixes, plus i dont think bethesda would release a patch and demanded that people completely restart their game

I'm on PS3. I've had a few little oddities that mostly strike me as funny. My biggest problem is the manequins Once I put a suit of armor on them they turn invisible. I wind up with a floating head.

Personnaly I love Bethseda games, bugs and all. WHen I want a new game, all candidates get extra points if they are Bethesda.

Has now played 14 hours without major problems, experienced some glitches but nothing major.
Have only one question, how can I eliminate po pup issue, for example, when I go the country and the trees are popping up in front of me.
Looks a bit silly.

Playing on the PC and I read everyone's posts that have been written.

I'm trying not to moan as it's only a game but i got caught up in the wait all year last year and expected a total 24 hour rush when i bought the game, personally i think it needs more open wide spaces like the plain of white run.

If you think this game in unfinished I guess you never played E.T. on the old Atari 2600, that game still takes the prize for most incomplete game ever released.

How on earth developers have the nerve to release the kind of product on the market?

Because you buy first and play later.

PC or console? It can happen, I think mostly on PC when your moving to fast for your computer to keep up. Otherwise no idea...

Also to the last few people that replied, do you even read the topic? Or do you just respond to the first post?

20 hours played lv 15 I have started to see more and more glitches, it seems that if you play more and more, the game flips more and more.
It seems that the game has its own life, so much is going around that my head sometimes want to run away:)
Have started to actually like the game, it is positive to see how much they have managed to squeeze into this living world.
CTD after 20 hours only when I closed the game, so we'll see if i get more CTD.

2022 news: "EA Games finally releases The Elder Scrolls VI"

"After a 10 year wait, EA Games finally released the long awaited RPG game The Elder Scrolls VI, available on Playstation 5, Xbox Kinect and Wii U2. The game is a sequel to one of the most successful games of the Neolithic generation, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

"The Elder Scrolls VI has been in development for the last 10 years and has been labeled many times as vaporware. After Bethesda Game Studios, creator of the original series, went bankrupt during the development, Electronic Arts bought the rights to finish the game and to release it. According to an EA representative, 'our goal was to respect the original decision that the game would only be released after all the bugs were fixed'.

"Industry sources confirmed last year that the added pressure to release a bug free game and the added cost of having hundreds of testers drained most of the resources of the late Bethesda Game Studios. Todd Howard, producer of The Elder Scrolls series, was replaced seven years after initial development had begun. According to some sources, he had to be taken to a mental institution after he suffered a nervous breakdown and tried to physically assault some of his coworkers with a knife, claiming that they were all bugs and had to be squashed.

"It remains to be seen how the game will perform in sales, though, especially because the RPG market has been dominated in the last years by the hugely successful The Witcher franchise. Early reports are disheartening for EA Games, with some reviewers reporting that The Elder Scrolls VI is 'massively outdated in terms of graphics' and that it 'uses an old gameplay mechanic that The Witcher left behind years ago'. Other critics pointed out that the game was being developed for the old Xbox Xcite and Playstation 4 systems and that, despite some updating, it still is not on the same level of games released for the newest consoles.

"Sales numbers so far are equally dismal. According to some sources, The Elder Scrolls VI has sold only 147 units so far, three days after it was released. Apparently the game was bought only by old members of the extinct Bethesda Forums. One of them wrote on the official EA forums: 'I appreciate the fact the game is bug free, but I'm just not interested in the series anymore. I can hardly wait for the release of The Witcher 12, though. Let's just hope it is less buggy than the last one'."

Oblivion was nearly as bad when initially released, and most bugs were never even fixed by the developer. it's a Bethesda thing, but that's not to say that I'm near to 100% happy with this game. My bigger worries lie with the overall shallowness of the game and its only (but major) redeeming feature being that it's a stunning action-adventure game.
