ARE MY THINGS SAFE IN MY WIFES HOUSE ?

Hello, I am playing the game on the XBOX 360 with no cheats.
I have a question about housing. I got married to Ysolda in the hold of Whiterun.
After we got married I decided to live in her house instead of buying one. I know, I am cheap  but I am also broke. Well not quite, I have 4,000 gold. But I dont want to waste it buying a house that I will only use for storage.
My question is this ; If I store my things there in her house, in her closets and chests, are they safe from being taken, dissapearing?? I know that in other Bethesda games (Fallout 3) your items could dissapear if you used any storage other then the safe and chests in YOUR HOME !
the game does recognize her as my wife, but I just am afraid to put my things there until I know they are safe!
Thanks for any advice!!

Test it. put something unimportant in the chest, leave Whiterun, then wait 32 days. If it's still there, its safe.

Hi and thanks for answering... I really want to store everything because I keep getting "Over weight" and have lots a pillaging to do in areas I already have cleared out. Me and my follower are both maxed out weight wise.
Curious, whats with the 32 days thing, is there a magic number to days away things regenerate ????
Thanks
