Steam Workshop VS. Skyrim Nexus

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 4:13 am

Is SW going to replace SN? I don't mean SN will go away but will we be able to get pretty much all the same mods on SW? I would assume that SW wouldn't provide the advlt content that SN provides but everything else could easily be sent to SW via the CK and thus SN wouldn't have near the content as SW. I will be checking both on a regular basis but I'm wondering will anybody continue to upload to SN after SW and the CK come out?

Mod makers will continue to upload to Nexus (and Planet Elder Scrolls) and mod users will continue to download from Nexus (and Planet Elder Scrolls). http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1341094-which-do-you-think-you-will-use-more-nexus-or-steam-workshop/

I imagine Steam Workshop will exist quite happily alongside mod hosting sites. There are a lot of people who will likely prefer more traditional mod hosts, and most of these sites have strong communities - and that doesn't evaporate just because there's an alternative.

SW also has a fairly fixed feature set, while a modding host can add features that people like far more easily.

Let's continue this in the existing thread, thanks for the link Pseron Wyrd.
