Why not make the mods downloadable on console too?

I'm sorry for my not perfect english, I'm italian, I hope I can make myself understood :)

I would like to know if in the future will be made downloadable the mods created by users even for consoles (Xbox 360 and PS3). I know it's almost impossible being able to create them on a console, but perhaps isn't so difficult to install and use the mods created by pc users, right?

This would increase the longevity and the gameplay of the console game like the pc game AND it would make more popular the mods and the modders who create them. Of course they should be controlled to be sure they do not create problems or that are incompatible (causing crash and other problems to the game). In conclusion, plug-in like those official for Oblivion, but created by users :)

Someone knows if it's possible?

Thanks in advance

Well i suppose the Devs could make a sort of "best of mods plugin" they could pick out the best mods pay the modders for it transfer it to consoles and then sell an expansion pack at a discount and no development cost to them.

Bethesda wont do this but they should they could be making a fortune off fan-made content.

Bethesda would love to do this. However Microsoft and Sony consider mods like this a hazard. Unlike most games, which load levels one at a time, Skyrim loads all DLC together, and on top of the existing game, which can put a big strain on the system.

Unfortunately this topic attracts a lot of problems so I need to lock it. Hopefully one day (if not with Skyrim, than next generation consoles) user mods will be opened up to consoles.
