I have collector's edition for PC, how do I get the patch?

By using Steam. Even with the Collector's Edition, you have to use Steam to play the game. All PC versions are the Steam version.

I have the retail version, meaning from the CD and not downloaded through Steam, and its patched.
Hit escape to bring up the menu. In the lower left should be the version number. If it says 1.4.12 (I think thats the number) its patched.

The only way to have a non steam version of the game is if you pirated it. In which case you are a horrible human being and deserve to not get the patch.

I remember reading that you could use one of the editions without steam on another forum, but you couldn’t update it without steam.
