Why have "[E] Take" for books if it doesn't work?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 4:32 am

Have seen this countless times - didn't bother me too much until it's keeping me from advancing a quest. King Olaf's Verse, in the hands of Whatshisname's corpse, can be read, but not taken. Bottom of the screen, I have the command "[E] Take". But [E] does nothing. Cannot move forward with quest. What now?

I heard there are some problems with E, R, and C when you change your key bindings. Is that something you've done?

None of the on-screen command prompts are correct if you change that keybinding. E is the default bind for "use", so hit whatever you've rebound "use" to.

It's really, really basic QA stuff to check this sort of thing, but apparently no-one did.
