You can use them . . . just click on a log, then the lever.

They dont do anything useful, though . . .

you can use it anytime, as long as someone is not on it. Placing logs into sawmills doesn't give you anything, aside from seeing nice animation, however, you don't get paid, nor you get any wood from it, only way to get the wood is to cut logs on the stump with an axe.

You need to activate a log - click on it like you were going to pick it up - then find the lever to activate the saw.

That's all there is.

My non-existant cat, who is the cause of all my typos, also missed it.
I've only done it once or twice, since it serves no real purpose. I think you click on the log pile first, then the lever.

EDIT: Curse you, imaginary cat, it's twice, not tweice. :verymad:
