Worth it to update to 1.4 patch?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 5:46 am

Since now 1.4 is out of beta and into official, should i update to 1.4? Currently my version is 1.3 and i have no bugs/glitches and the game is stable. Everything is perfect. Will 1.4 make the game same as 1.3? I know 1.4 patch fixes bugs like clean up mess in hjerim, but what negative effects does it have(e.g. no more arrow exploit). Also, is Blood on the Ice fixed on 1.4?

Blood on the Ice IS listed as being fixed in the notes, but it may be neccesary to reload an earlier save to trigger it as it won't affect it on a save game thats already too far beyond that point.

There's a whole host of performance improvements too. Some users have reported a noticeable increase in smoothness, a decrease in hitching and freezing and quite a few crashes have been eliminated.

If your using any mods, you'll have to make sure you get the up to date versions of those too, especially any tools like SKSE.

What if you already cannot trigger Blood on the Ice(e.g. near the end of the game) and u install the 1.4 patch. Will the quest start or do i have to roll a new char? I cant find this answer online so i have to ask here

Just PC. It's been submitted to Sony and Microsoft for approval though (and thoroughly beta tested by brave PC users.) To the OP, I'd recommend updating. The performance gains alone are worth it, and it has a ton of quest fixes.

Good to hear. I hope it arrives to consoles in a week at most. :)

From designer point of view having exploitable content is bad, but from player perspective it's like being rewarded for thinking outside the box - which in case if you downloaded the exploit from the Internet, you're admitting that someone else is more observant
