That would be messed up, all the character models would look like mario and the graphics would be so terrible that a tree 1 foot away from me would be 2d.

The hardware isn't bad, it's just designed with different goals in mind. Bad hardware is faulty hardware, like consoles that get hot and die easily. Nintendo's hardware never seems to have that problem outside of random defects. The point is to understand that Nintendo hasn't been trying to court developers like Bethesda for a long time; it's not any kind of problem they don't make machines that can run Skyrim.
