Argonian Lament

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:35 pm

I wish there was an option to invite NPCs to live in Dragonborn's house(s), other than "marriage" and housecarls.

I'm probably by far richest Argonian person in entire Skyrim, and I so wish to help out my fellow marsh friends of Windhelm docks. I own enough houses to provide each of them with separate great living space, or, if they want to stick together as a community, they could all move into my Solitude manor - it has everything an Argonian could wish for, even swamps near the city. I married one of the Docks Argonian, but I also feel bad for pulling him alone out of his community, since he always stresses that Argonians stick together. How I'd love to have a merry Argonian mini tribe staying at my manor while I'm out scouting many caves, with a proud Nord carrying my burdens. As for Windhelm docks, let Nords themselves load their ships.

That would be cool to be able to influence the world and the people more. If I want to help a beggar and give him 10,000 gold he should buy a house and never beg for money again... npc's should be programmed to search for wealth and happiness, and when they find it they should be aware they found it and act properly... like in the original Radiant AI, right? The npcs having a set of needs and means to satisfy.

 radiant ai is a lie! What we saw in the notorious demo was 100% scripted.

Radiant AI? In a vanilla TES game? You're new to the elder scrolls community aren't you? Bethesda always pulls our leg with the radiant ai thing in the demos and trailers.

@op yeah, I know what you mean. As I was playing my Argonian or Khajiit I always want to do more for my fellows and it always seems that the backstories and interactions end too soon to make a difference. The marriage itself could provide more options and more interaction.

@others: you all sound so pompous that one could actually believe that you are better than Bethesda's people at making worlds and artificial behaviour. Please, surprise us and make a difference.

Nope I won't be able to do anything but knowing how most of the community likes a challenge its likely a modder who knows how to script will do something to make radiant AI sooner or later.

OP, you are a good person to want to do so, but unfortunately the game has no outlet for your philanthropy at present.

Perhaps in future DLC or a mod, I'd like to be able to help some of Skyrim's poor and downtrodden with some of my characters as well.

Haha, not really. Notice how I express (selfish) desire to help out only fellow Argonians, and Khajiits. Would I love to stop by at my home full of, say, Dunmers? Not so.

But the Dunmer make great lovers, who wouldn't want a home full of them?

You must have been reading too much "The Real Barenziah".

My Argonian finds draugrs more attractive than Dunmers, but that's just me my Argonian.

I felt like that with the first girlfriend in GTA San Andreas. She's living in a little house in Compton, you pick her up in a sports car wearing a suit and with $200 million in your pocket. She's talking about how she wants to open a beauty parlor, I want to have an option "Sure, here's a million dollars, knock yourself out".

In this game when the guards want dragonscale armor I feel like I should make them some since I have a chest full of dragon parts.
