console gamers

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 3:16 am

I am a console gamer (xbox) and it seems to me that the console community have been isolated. the pc community seem to be getting everything, patches on time, mods creation kit, free gifts. its not really fair, I know a construction kit would not work for the consoles but it does not seem in any way fair that we dont get anything at all. there is a storm cloud over most console gamers experience of skyrim (which is a fantastic game by the way) but we are angry because we now face a massive waiy for DLC which once it does finally come out we will have to pay for, how is it fair we have to pay for extra content when pc gamers can get whole creation kits, free gifts etc for nothing.

you can go on any forum, social network site and see that console gamers are not happy, would it not be a good idea to give the console gamers something, just something fun, like armour skins, extra weapons, even horse armour, or a space core (lol). just to show that you acknowledge you understand that we count too.

I am a 360 player as well. Favoritism is hardly the case. This thread will not end well. It is flame bait. Wait and see.

Besides things are still coming soon.

Welcome to how every other person feels when the Xbox gets exclusive DLC, or in fact other platforms get contents removed because they (microshaft) want parity over all the platforms and would rather everyone suffered.

Then feel warm inside when you get proper expansion DLCs first, till then deal with it.

It works both ways, isn't Xbox 360 getting a DLC a month before anyone else, and how many games have PC gamers had to wait to play, sometimes up to 6 months ie GTA!

I don't like mods so I'm fine with the 360 version.

Uhm... It's like this with many games... If you really don't like it, then get a PC... It's not Bethesdas fault that Micro$oft and $ony wont allow it unless they completely control the mods and make bank from it...

I would rather it stay the way it is, then have it be completely destroyed and turned into a pay for thing.

x-box user, I'm not angry that I don't get all the perks that pc users get. I have a pc, it won't run skyrim, but that doesn't mean that I couldn't up-grade, either my pc or to a new one.

I'm just bleepity bleepity happy that Oblivion and Skyrim are ON consoles. Beth could have just kept to the pc world. we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I use Xbox, can't afford to replace my aging, needed for internet, old Mac. I am not complaining though. I wouldn't buy a car that uses an economic amount of fuel, and is easy to park, then complain that my mate's van carries more stuff.

i might be xbox but i was speaking for all console gamers, in fact ps3 has had it the worst, its not my fault micro[censored]e did a deal with bethesda, thats not the point, i dont care about getting dlc first, im not a child, in fact i would prefer it if we wouldnt as thats just gonna cause more of a divide. AND im not against in any way the pc gamer i understand you guys ended up with a product less than your used to on the pc, my one and only point is charging ps3 and xbox for something that can and probally will be created on the construction kit.

It's the nature of the beast unfortunately. However, I do think Bethesda have to be VERY careful here - essentially their current marketing stratergy would read like this:

1) Dumb down the RPG elements to appeal to mass market console owners
2) Design UI and Controls with Console gamers in mind
3) Release a game which isn't really finished and which required DLC/Mods to appriciate it fully, thus alienating some console owners

It doesn't make any sense changing a game to suit console owners, but which you have then to play on PC to appriciate fully. They're trying to cater to 2 different audiences and if they're not careful will lose large portions of both.

TES is quickly becoming the series to wait to buy at a budget price 3 years after it's release, knowing it will be cheaper and better in quality.

And I say...So.
I will gladly pay for ANY DLC. No matter where it originates. Don't worry about everybody else. Be glad that we even get to play at all.

This is already going down a path of us against them. The "us" and the "Them" varies from platform war thread to thread, but they never end well.

Fair is not always equal, I've been bummed waiting for a DLC that was released for the xbox first. I've not played games like Uncharted, because it's a PS3 exclusive, and I don't own a PS3.

People buy the platform they can afford, or, if money is not an issue, the platform they simply prefer. To continually try to make issue, or try to find ways where one side is getting treated better or worse than another is an exercise in futility. Buy the games you want, and stop worrying about what other people are, or are not getting.
