How to with Hi-Res pack and ur favorite tex mods work togeth

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 3:03 pm

Ok, first off very happy for Bethesda to give us a hi res pack for free...thank you! Secondly wanna thank all the modders out there who have slaved over giving us really nice texture mods.

Well when i first downloaded the new free pack, i was very disappointed to see first off my favorite mods were not overwriting or co-exsiting with the new pack. Very sad, but thankfully someone and i am soooo sorry for not remembering ur name but thank you stated how to get the pack and ur favorite mods to coexsist.

First uninstall all ur texture mods. Once u un-install all of them, then go into ur data file and find the highResTexturePack01 and HighResTexturePack02 files...not the esps but the ones right above it. Now go into a different menu and creat a new folder named textures. open up first the HighResTexturePack01 and click on the extract all and extracted into the new folder called textures that u just created and then go into HighResTexturePack02 and extract all into the very same file. Once both have been extracted to the files, go into the NEW texture file that u just created and double click on it. there should be 10 files, highlight all of them and rightclick and press copy. Go into the textures file located in the skyrim/data file and double click it and then right click and press paste. takes a min and then press yes to overwrite everything for all files.

Once u do that, go back and start reinstalling ur texture mods, either overwriting everything o go thru each and every overwrite and decide to overwrite or not.

MAKE SURE U HAVE BOTH TEXTURE PACKS UNCLICKED IN DATA AND ON UR MOD MANAGER! very important!

and yes i knwo there are quicker ways but i wanted to gives a heads up and a run thru on people who are not that experienced.

Enjoy! and modders dont give up, because alot of u out there look better than the free pack we got.

Only 10 Files? So textures are categorized in 10 Files? So If I have only 1 armor replacer.... would that work? I thought extracting the oficial textures would mean like a couple of hundreds of files ^^
