I hope they add something like Fallout 3's Pinkerton guy in

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 6:37 pm

I'm playing on the 360 so no I cant just open up the "console commands" and re create my character's looks ...

also I had an idea to make shouts slightly better

Each shouts has 3 words right? what if you could learn how to re arrange the words and "make" your own shout

it would still be one shout but you could start with Tiid for slow time then add in a word from whirl wind sprint and finish off with DAH for force and get like awesome?

to balance it out you couldn't put 3 last words in a row so the 1st slot would all be words from 1st word 2nd slot = 2nd words 3rd slot be 3rd words

(Slot 1: "Fus" Slot 2: "Ro" Slot 3: "Dah" but you could change them out to be FEIM LUN DIIN or Fade Leech Freeze)

I agree with the first bit, second sounds silly. They should add in a mage that wants to experiment on you...

Atleast have the ability to change your appearance before leaving the cave in the beginning like Oblivion did...

Protip: Showracemenu

only joking. I don't see it happening personally, in fallout it makes sense, in skyrim it would not.

I've only played oblivion before skyrim, but as far as I know there's nothing in the tes universe that allows cosmetic magic surgery.

Could easily be done, there could be a Mage who is in trouble and needs your help to find certain stuff to help him change his apperance into that of another... Then after thats all done he will help you to change your apperance *but not six or race* for free.

I find it hard to believe there is no type of transmodification spells in TES Universe.

But honestly, no. I don't want to be able to change my face, my race or my gender. Those types of things are massive immersion breakers and would take the fun out of starting fresh.

However, I do want to cut my hair, change my paint or my dirt and shave my face. That is it. No adding/removing scars, no raising/lowering my cheekbones, no widening my jaw.

what about the transmute spell and the w/e spell it is that can change things into chickens? its essentially the same thing.

a hair cut/re-arrang should be in the world somewhere but even though i just pointed out those two spells i still would rather it not be included.

No adding/removing scars

may i ask why not? scars being added shouldnt be a problem and unless there real deep scars do fade and heal over-time (like i said as long as there not too serious)

Spell that changes things into chickens? You must be thinking of the staff Wabbajack, which has always been in the lore.

Because scars don't just wash off in 5 game days when you decide you don't want a scar across your eye anymore.

For the most part, a good scar is pretty permanant. It'd just go back to being an immersion breaker like about 75% of everything else in this watered-down title.

And you don't just "add" scars to yourself. If anything a Fable-esque system of scaring/removal would have to be implemented, but that's the kind of thing that needs to be on the Dev Table for them to work in. Not to mention, the Fable-esque "remove scar potion" doesn't fit in to the alchemical realm in TES.

In Fallout 3 it made sense in that Pinkerton was a scientist and plastic surgeon. There would be no such science in the TES world. However they could do it as a sort of magic. Like there were only certain mages that could charge your items in Oblivion.

ok so....dont remove it after 5 game days wait 5 game years, in all honesty its not an immersion breaker while i understand where your coming from having the option and using it are two totally different things your not forced to use it so it doesnt break anything and anyway just RP that you got the scare while fighting a hagraven or a wolf or something, it isnt difficult.

People aren't forced to bring up console and use Showracemenu, but they do it because it's easily available and tempting.

Edit: Okay, so maybe they are half way forced because Character Creation svcks, that's not the point though.

The change of your character is fine and could be helpful to those who needs to be "A Fresh Face".

As for the combining the shouts. I would like to see what would happen, but each word relates to each other to bolster the overall effects the shout gives. So saying random words from a shout might give a unexpected out come. So in the end, lets not go there yet.

Shouts need to be one at a time like they are, otherwise they would be too powerful.

As for changing faces, the medicine of TES is based on healing what is there through magic or potion. Medicine in Fallout was based on Science and standard Western Medical Practice and Procedures, in other words Surgery. Cybernetic Implant Surgery was part of the game. Plastic Surgery fits in the Fallout World, it does not fit in TES.

Haircuts and Face Paint should be changeable. Scars I think could or should be added this way, but I think anything much beyond a Barber and some Grease Paint would be outside of the Lore for Nirn.

Besides, we have seen the results of using the Chargen menus after the Tutorial, it hoses peoples characters. Well, not all the time, but often enough that it would probably just cause a lot of issues. Most of the people who have issues are changing Races and Genders, so that is understandable. Hair style only could be changes that would not cause these issues.
