What do you guys keep and what do you guys sell?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:58 pm

Just wondering what stuff people keep and what stuff they sell. Personally I keep some sort of memorabilia, say for example I have the nightingale boots , armor of the great gods etc. as memorabilia for completing fun moments in this epic game. I also keep bounty letters for bounties I have completed. I also keep one dragon bone/scale per dragon I kill and then sell the rest of the stuff.

I keep books, letters, mammoth tusks, and gems. I sell almost everything else, apart from a few quest rewards.

wow. Looking at my chest there is so much stuff in there. I wish they had a sell chest option where you can sell everything in your chest for gold instead of carrying everything to the stores.

I keep what could be useful but I'm also a bit of a collector... Any unique item I get I keep unless I'm supposed to turn it in as part of a quest... I just wish the game would let me drop The Elder Scroll now that I've completed the quest that I need it in... I've got the full suit of thieves guild armor and guild masters armor as well as the full Nightingale armor plus all the Nightingale weapons, I've got many other things from my travels as well but generally if I already have one of it I don't keep a second... Everything else that I get I sell if I bother to pick it up though I don't tend to need the money as I've got well over 200k and nothing to spend any of it on...

I've also got one of every book I've run across so far including the Oghma Infinium by using the glitch to make sure it didn't consume it when I used it... Only had 5 points left in Alchemy and Lockpicking when I used it and everything else maxed so all I got out of it was a really big book of secrets I can never actually gain anything from...

I keep ingredients, potions and soul gems that I plan on using (i have a back stock) and any weapon that is sweet, but I wont be using. I keep them becuase if i get a new companion that uses differnet weapons than my current one, I can always run back to the house and suite them up. Suite them up, that's right, I keep armor too. Only the good stuff though. I keep some novelty items like books, but basically, if i can't use it, don't want to you, and it's worth a Septim, I sell it. Weapons and armor get fixed up, enchanted with a low end spell and sold for levelings sake.

 So THAT'S what that room's there for... Makes sense though since it's a corrupt town essentially run by the Thieves Guild... I should probably start using that room...

Apparel:
I keep all the unique armor/clothing like the Linwe and DB sets, Archmage's Robes and the Dragon Priest masks. I just stack them all on mannequins.
I sell all that expensive Heavy Armor I find when adventuring. If it's enchanted I just disenchant it.

Weapons:
Other than the stuff I actually carry, I keep all the weapons that are "too weak" for me now, but I'm too attached to let them go. I also keep unique weapons, no matter how useless they currently are (Chillrend, Grimsever).
I sell/disenchant the (usually) two-handed weapons which are too unpractical, heavy or usually weak for me to carry.

Other:
I keep ALL the claws. I usually place them on places they would fit in nicely, I keep the Ivory one on the enchanter since it matches the skull, I keep the Emerald one on my alchemy table since it fits the color scheme. I also keep random things I don't really use, like skulls, statues, pelts, etc. I also collect books of all kinds.
I sell gems, expensive ingredients, and most kinds of random loot that doesn't look too decorative or useful.

My only problem with decorating my place is that everything is damn messy when I return. I wish Iona picked it up, she's in the house the whole day, drinking my mead and eating my sweetrolls. I lost the bust of the Gray Fox the last day and still can't figure out where it went.

I keep unique equipment and artifacts. I occasionally keep memorabilia that's non-unique.

I'm busy collecting complete sets of every unique item in game....

I sell magic staffs and worn enchanted items. I often get rid of old weapons and armour except for a particular cool weapon even if it isn`t very deadly. But usually everything not useful gets chucked.

I collect at least one of every book I run across, If I have two houses or plan on buying a second house I will collect a 2nd book if I happen to like rereading that particular one.

Claws, I have kept all but the gold one, I put them in different places around the house.

Centurion dynamo's, I think they look cool in a dark area in the house.

Helmets and Sheilds, I try to get one of each type and display them.

alchemy ingredient's, some of the unique weapons/armor. I generally have a shallow bowl full of gems.

I sell anything I don't think will be useful either for that char OR a follower.

My pure mage will be a dwemer nut, so I will have alot of that stuff in his house, I just wish you could get some of the really big urns and stuff.

I'm still debating on weather or not to decorate my house with some of the TG booty or sell them to Devlin as some of the thing's are one of a kind.

My current necromancer/illusionist mage character is a sort of insane scientist. She is obsessed with understanding the inner workings of living (or previously living) beings. So she collects any artifacts that may be helpful in her research- human and troll skulls, human flesh and skeever tails, mammoth tusks, animal pelts, bugs in jars, and so on.

She has no use for weapons or armor, so most loot is sold right away. She does keep a few memorable items on display, like the Axe of Whiterun.

I keep the Thane Weapons, sometimes the higher scaled "named" weapons and apparel, one of each of the necklaces of the "nine" and the dragon priest masks. Otherwise Mjoll gets it,,, or the trash does. Or Riverwood's trader.

I would be on Tamreil's version of Hoarders.

I keep the following:

I keep one full set of armor, unenchanted (This was much harder to do in Oblivion and Morrowind of course), for each armor type.

I keep Special rewards (Quest rewards that have special name, and the like)

I keep any armor set I use for an extended period.

I try to have one of every kind of book

My alchemy cabinet could only be cleaned with a controlled burn.

If I get especially eccentric one day, I will even just collect a ton of gems, and dump them on a table to try and look as decadent as humanly possible.

I also leave full place settings on most of my tables and whatnot, as well as a realistically stocked kitchen.

Oh, and skulls... I keep the individual skulls of particular animals and put them on my mantle. I mean, I'm not to Crazed bone Collector level, I just have one human and one troll skull, because why not.

And any particular item I find especially interesting, I keep for the fun of it.

I keep the unique items and sell the generic stuff.

If something looks like it would look nice displayed around my house, then I hold on to it. Since you can't get back stuff that you sell, after the merchants reset their inventories, one shouldn't be in a hurry to sell everything.

If I raided a dungeon and loaded up on generic armor from the slain bandits, as well as any jewels or accessories that my character won't wear or can't disenchant, then it becomes vendor trash.

Atm, actually, I have an inventory of potions to sell, and keep making more, so I usually leave any items that I don't want to keep long-term. Rather than loot the dungeons for stuff to sell, I loot Skyrim of it's flora and butterflies.

I keep everything i find interesting and put it on display in whiterun home. Gives me something extra to do.

This ranges from a full set of falmer equipement, to some 50 bear skins, to some platters that I stole from Thalmor on which I display skulls and various torture implements (saw, hammer, embalming tools, curtley, writing utensils, J'zargo's evil flame scrolls...)

Selling interesting stuff seems like kind of waste. Technically the item is deleted after a few days and I dont realy need money all that badly anyway.

I never sell anything unique. Some people sell their guild armor and all their special artifacts.. I don't get it. Anything else I don't need I sell.
