What type of FollowerWho should I get?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 4:27 am

I'm an Orc Two handed beast. Specializing in well, Two handed weaponry, heavy armor, well..you get the point. What type of follower should I get?

Recently, Lydia died in an arrow accident...and I'm in need of another follower, but I'm stumped on which type of follower I should get, or who.

SHould I get another meat magnet like lydia where she can take all the hits while I strike them power hits?

Should I get a mage who actually will do a lot of damage?

Whatever type you pick, please tell me who to get, where to find them, and what they specialize in and why(I know this is starting to sound like a school essay sorry). Oh and please say If I have to pay them everytime .

Thanks!

Derkeethus can't die and dual wields a pickaxe.

He's awesome.

You'll find him in a cave near Darkwater. You rescue him from some Falmer and he'll follow you.

Archers or mages could work for you. They usually do not try to melee so they won't get in your way to often.

Aela from the companions for archers or marcurio the mage in Riften are decent choices.

If you came across her at a low level there is trick with the wabbajack that can boost her to your current level(works with all followers)so if she seems undergunned look for how its done.

My Orc married http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Borgakh_the_Steel_Heart for RP. She is working out well, though like other followers she insists on using an unimproved hunting bow for no reason.

You have to move to her place for at least one night.

since most companions revert to a long bow, I suggest not needing them as a tank... Or anything but a friendly face
