Well, it would sort of defeat the purpose of combining effects if you only create a regular ol' effect that you can achieve through a *single* spell, wouldn't it?
I love the principle at work here, though. If we can get some unique or powerful effects through combos, it would make spellcasting a little more innovative, sort of making up for the lack of spellmaking.
It would be great if spellcasting and combining effects were a bit like alchemy - experimental, somewhat unpredictable.
